Opinions on this '67 5513 please?
Hi Chaps
(Firstly let me apologise if this is in the wrong place or inappropriate - I have moved it from the watch out thread to try to get some more responses...) I'm talking to a chap on eBay with a 1967 5513. Looks legit and he has good feedback, although not huge amounts of it, and looks like this is the most expensive thing he's sold in a while. From our conversations I feel he's honest. It's a birth year watch for me, and on the face of it it seems the nicest one currently available on the bay, and its in the UK as well (as am I). http://bit.ly/12XMfSa Pics are not great, but I did also got a few extra pics of the inside and lugs: Serial is consistent with date, bracelet and end links are age appropriate (although bracelet seems a bit loose), movement looks good and is consistent with age. Dial and hands look good and similar in patina. What do you guys think? Does it seem kosher? Any concerns that any of the Rolex gurus have (price notwithstanding, I'm intending to try to negotiate down a bit) Cheers Cheese |

Cheese,
I am far far from any kind of vintage expert but I know that those who are will respond soon. Good luck and welcome to TRF.

Decent watch, too much money
1- Decent lugs ( spring bars not protruding. Remnant of chanfers ).
2- Good decent crown guards. 3- Can't really tell for sure from the scans provided but looks clean. 4- Original MK 2 Fat font insert. 5- Price is too HIGH. |

Thanks for the feedback guys
I know the price is to high, I'm working on him but it's slow progress ;) And thanks for the welcome. I'm sorry to be introducing myself with a plea for help, but I hope to be more active as a 5513 owner soon :) |
