Would you buy a Hulk 116610LV as your first Rolex?
Buying my first Rolex, currently have a couple of Brietlings and Im ready to buy now. Im really torn between the hulk (huge Green Bay Packer fan) and a Datejust II 116334 with romal numerals, and a slate dial . I just dont know if the green will work enough to wear as much as I want with it being my first Rolex? Thoughts?

Interesting question.
For me, the Hulk is too one dimensional; however, I am in the minority. Many of our forum members wear it on a daily basis, and the truth is it does look great in their wrist shots. Cheers. |

Same here. For a "first" the Hulk would not be my choice.

I wouldn't hesitate with it. Love the HULK. The Dj is nice but compared to the HULK....

Although I have more than one Rolex - I could easily have the LVC as my only one.
It's that nice and way more versatile than you would think. Bonus for you being a Packers fan - green is perfect. |

I like the Hulk very much, but for the first I would go more classic, I would go with a LN

Go for it! I wear my Hulk as a daily in rotation with others. Plus it's your fav team's color. :)

I have one as part of a small collection but personally wouldn't choose it as my one and only. However this is about what you want and if what is calling you is the LVc then go for it. It is far more practical to wear formally and informally than it looks in some photo's. Whatever you do don't go for something as a compromise, or you will soon be wondering what if! Good luck with your decision.

I certainly wouldn't buy it because you are a Packers fan.......that's really silly. Buy it because you like it

As my first I would go with black as that is the classic and it goes with everything. Especially if it turns out to be my only one. I want a green, but I won't trade my black dial for it. Also green does not go with everything you wear. The stainless/black combo does.

I personally would only add the LV if I had other Rolex watches. You could wear it with everything but I would gravitate towards a Black one as it would go with everything. Just my 2 cents.

I just purchased a GMTIIC SS and was contemplating the Hulk. LOVED how it looked on but I couldn't see myself using it everyday. Everyday watch is what I was looking for. I think the DJII is your best choice for everyday but you should also look at the gmt. Its and amazing watch! Good luck!

The hulk is one great looking watch. But if it was going to be my only Rolex no I wouldn't buy it. Now if you intend to buy more down the road I say go for it.

I just got my hulk on Friday. It was not my first Rolex, but there is no reason why it can't be yours!
The best advice I think anyone can ever be given about buying a first Rolex is simply to buy the one that you like the most that falls within your budget. With me, at the time I bought my first, that was a Datejust. For you, only you can decide! |

I agree, I could easily have my black SubC as my only watch but I would not go green for the same reasons. Black simply goes with everything.

The green sub works well with anything, formal to jeans. I'd get that over the date just.
