Will Rolex Build the Submariner in Titanium?

As much as I like the Pelagos and I have huge respect for Tudor but its still no Rolex, would they build the Submariner in Titanium? Would you be interested in one?

I know I would, it would be the perfect everyday watch, the current steel sub is a bit too flash, the titanium will dull it down abit more and make it look like a Tool Watch again and not to mention make it lighter.

Who knows what Rolex will do? I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Myself, I'm happy with SS.

Don't think I'd be interested in Ti.

Countdown to Sept. for the mainland release of the Pelagos.

Lumed Matte ceramic bezel, Ti case, self adjusting clasp.

It seems like it IS the Submariner, evolved.

This is what I thought first too!

I'd really like to see one in tungsten but it may be too brittle...

Judging the prices charged by Rolex for just a slither of ceramic in there inserts,a ceramic case bracelet would cost more than gold.

I like both the comfort and the look of titanium, so I sure hope so . . . but I doubt it'll ever happen.

well, the case back of the DSSD is titanium and the tudor pelagos is titanium, so it wouldn't be "impossible", but, i think that if they would have wanted to do a titanium submariner, they would have already done it.

The main and only difference is the name on the dial which like most all high end watches you pay quite a high price, but not quite so much for the Tudor line.

I don't like full ceramic watches at all, they look cheap and tacky, especially the white. I like titanium as a metal but it's far too light for a watch and feels flimsy/cheap in the hands (I know it's not). I also don't like the colour tone. I personally hope they stay away from both materials.

I did say FULL CERAMIC right? Those are not full ceramic.
Since we're supersizing words I figured I'd follow suit.

Either way, they might look ok in pics but in person, they look and feel tacky.
I stand by my argument.

Because they haven't made ceramic that looks like leather/nylon/rubber yet...

It's irrelevant anyway, no matter how good they look in pictures (I like none of those btw) the ceramic simply looks and feels wrong in person. The only benefit I can see is scratch resistance, but then again, it chips/cracks instead!
