Bracelet stretch repair

Hello everyone,

I'm considering purchasing a Rolex that needs bracelet repair and I am looking for a place to take it to get the stretch removed. While I'm familiar with Michael Young (who seems great btw) I am looking for someone in the US, as I am purchasing on behalf of a friend who wants the watch soon, and I'd rather not deal with sending it to HK. If anyone has someone who they recommend please let me know! Also, what does this type of repair generally cost?

Thanks very much!

I haven't heard of anyone in the US that compares to the work MY does...

It doesn't have to be perfect but improved somewhat. Hopefully someone has a recommendation! I must say MY's work looks fantastic but like I said I'd like to have this done soon and in the US if possible

I'd like to believe there is one person in the entire country that can repair Rolex bracelets. Maybe I'm wrong though....

Ok maybe I'll give in..does anyone have michael's contact info? Hard to believe not a single person in the US does this but if it's the only option I will convince my friend to go with that, especially given how good his work is

How about buying a strap for interim use and sending the bracelet out?

Not a bad idea. This watch is for a friend though and he wants it ASAP. I'd be fine sending it out there, but it's not my call unfortunately.

Is the friend totally sold on the bracelet or would a replacement / strap be ok.
I guess that's the real question

He wants the bracelet and the only way to get the watch he wants in the right price range is to buy one that needs a little work. Good question though. Really hoping someone knows a person in the states that does this at a decent price.

Thanks again

You can always open the business yourself, sounds like you wouldn't have any competition state side.

I had a very old and beat up 93160...I Pulled the links apart...

I used an aluminum tape to take up the play in the pins...

Put it back together...Zero stretch...

If you consider MY is the best choice, he is only an overnight pouch away - not really different than an overnight pouch to some other city in the US...

However, if you found a watchmaker in US willing to tackle it, then it might be his/her first rodeo methinks.

Just my 2¢

I had a President that needed restoration and I started calling local watch guys. I called about 6 places. 5 said no way and 1 guy said he would "consider trying it for $4000". Bracelet went straight to MY and here are the results. It took about 5 weeks start to finish. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373590451.281778.jpg

Sent my bracelet (93150) to MY and very happy. Turnaround was about 6 weeks and cost about $120.00 plus shipping. I recommend 100%

Anyone have more suggestions before I open a bracelet repair business here? Lol

Seriously though any suggestion would be great. If not I'll see if my friend will ship out to hk

How can you be assured that you are getting the exact same band back that you sent out?? And not a fake, or a different one? Also can you insure this package going to CHINA and back???

Why not just get a new bracelet? Am I missing something obvious here?

because then your rolex is no longer original, and is thus worth way less money.

Because a stainless oyster costs $1500 plus Rolex wants the old bracelet. Having a new, unoriginal bracelet will kill the resale value of your timepiece
