Decisions Decisions....
Popped down to Brent Cross today hoped to meet our very own Chris (The GMT Master) but he was too busy off golfing
![]() Anyway first tried on a few of our favourites Sorry not the best pics, my wife was a little bemused at me asking her to take pics of them all lol Seemed to have lost the wrist shot of the Explorer I and GMTII but they are both in contention for my next purchase along with the YM, ![]() I also had to try on the YMII in SS, out of my price range really but worth a look ![]() Then over to Chris's haunt and on with some Omega's, but the PO and PO GMT just didn't feel right ! Both sat way to high on the wrist and just didn't look right to me ! ![]() On with a classic which I still really like ![]() And finally an option which I hadn't really until today considered the AQ ![]() ![]() Didn't really get enough pics but I was in my element trying on a pretty good selection of watches ![]() Hit list currently stands to partner with my SubC in no particular order Explorer I GMTII Speedmaster moonwatch Aquaterra YM is a nice option but just don't like the price ! Just seems over priced to me, yeah I know its plat etc but if I stretched to the YM think i'd just say sod it and stretch that little more for the YMII SS ![]() Hmmm now's the hard part... |

All great choices. I love the YM but with a blue dial or the PO with an orange bezel. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose.

Unfortunately as lovely as it looks the PO/PO GMT are out of the question, they both just don't sit right on my wrist shame as they are stunning pieces.

Great choices, I'd add either the Explorer I or the Speedmaster. They are both on my gotta get someday list.

Gmt 11 but then again I am a little biased !!
I pondered for weeks with the omega but then as you say, didn't feel as nice on the wrist ( for me anyway). Nice way to spend a few hours though eh? :-) |

There is an added bonus to the GMTII option, as my sub now lives on a Nato I have the brushed bracelet with glidelock to use on the GMTII and mix it up !

Perhaps you meant the ymii in wg was out of your range, but in stainless?? That watch looks like it was made for you... Apologize to your wife in advance and grab it

I think the YM-II fits you very well but still prefer the Speedmaster, it gets my vote.

No honestly guys the YMII is nothing more then a dream ! I'm self employed and work hard and as long as bills are paid and family memembers are supported I will treat myself but with Rolex's ever increasing prices the GMTII is really topping my budget and I'm still a good few months off that !

Oh and on a side note I was told... That the BLNR GMT is going to be harder to get then the Daytona and the AD has been told to expect only 3-4 per year hmmmm

Love your choices. Too bad the PO doesn't sit right for you, I agree it sits high, but aesthetically, it is the most appealing of the dive watches out there. The Explorer I is far and away my favorite on your list. What could be more fun than having to choose from among such beautiful watches?
Pardon this one promotional shot of my PO !

So in reality list is
Speedmaster Hesalite or Sandwich ![]() Aqua Terra grey dial (out of the blue but looked so nice on, added pic as its shows depth of the dial better) Explorer I (understated Rolex, large dial and slim bezel showed enough wrist presence and the matte dial set if off from my Sub who would be its brother in rotation also suits well the option of Nato or Rubber B to mix it up) GMTII (obviously very similair to my sub but the PCL and bezel layout does set it apart enough and it has the slightly more classy look over the sub, oh and it can mix between the Sub's brushed band and its own PCL band for different occasions while the Sub sits sporty on it Nato) ![]() |

Another factor is I could infact virtually pick up both the Speedy and AQ for not much more then the GMTII !
But as its meant to be a luxury gift to myself regardless if I when for a lesser expensive piece I would just use the left over funds elsewhere on more important things. |

I'm thinking the Speedy might be a bit old school for you.
You have a sub c which is 'similar' in appearance to the GMT. Current PO's are way too thick. Pity they didn't focus on the 3133/2500. I might be the only guy here who isn't a fan of the YM range...... ;-) Of all, the grey dial AT is a real option. |

In Brent Cross whether in Fraser Hart or Ernest Jones the GMTc TT has always looked fantastic on my wrists so as I too have a subc that would be my suggestion to you.
