6 oclock side or 12 oclock side?

Novice question I know :)...

I have a president. The clasp etc right now is perfectly center. I need to remove just one link. Should I remove the one link from the 6 or 12 oclock side?

I would say if it's perfectly centered any link you remove will off center it.

The 6 o'clock side because I like the 12 o'clock side of the bracelet to be a little longer.

My 12 o'clock has 6 links my 6 o'clock has 5 links. Just had my GMT matched to that exact configuration (was 7 and 4 respectively, and felt 'weird' compared to my DJII).
As a general rule you should bias the higher link number (I'd say no more than +1 or +2) to the 12 o'clock side for best balance.

I wear mine face inboard and also removed from the 12 side. Both the clasp and face sit centered.

I normally removed mine from the 6 o'clock side. I feel that it is better moving it slightly forward towards me than backwards

I never thought about it and I checked my Seadweller, 6 on the 12 oclock side, 5 on the 6. Feels good in those positions.

Just searched you tube and I think a Rolex training video say 'always remove from 6 o'clck first'

Makes sense to me, as it will naturally set the dial toward you.

Sorry a lot of people go nuts when the clasp is off centered, If you have to remove 1 link I would take it from the 6 o'clock side.

I'm not real familiar with the clasp on the President bracelet so this is more of a generic answer. Typically links are removed from the 6 o'clock side first. The Rolex clasp is basically designed to follow the curve of the underside of the wrist. The reason to take off the 6 o'clock side is that the inner bars of the clasp extend past the outer clasp towards the 12 o'clock side and this keeps the two inner bars of the clasp more centered, the part that is actually against your wrist. It is the fit of this inner portion of the clasp that will determine comfort more than where the outside locking mechanism is located. If you take links off the 12 o'clock side then the inner portion of the clasp, while curved, will probably not match the curve of your wrist as it goes around from inside to the outside on the 12 o'clock side.

But again, I'm not sure about the DD but in any event ultimately comfort and fit come first.

12 ... I really dislike short side on 6.

I like a short 6 side. I have a small wrist, so I had to remove a permanent link from the 6 side to center the clasp.

General rule of thumb-12 side should contain more links. I would take from 12 side and see how it looks.

All my watches' bracelets or straps (deployant clasps) are shorter on 6 o'clock side. This tends to pull the watch face towards me rather than the outside of the wrist.

On my Daytona, I have 4 links on six o'clock and 7 on the twelve o'clock. I feel the watch points perfectly towards me.
