WG Daytona Good Deal?

I was just in a local AD that is closing. Their last day is today at this location. They have another across the city were I bought my explorer. They have a brand new WG Daytona, and said because of their closing they are allowed to discount the watch, but Rolex won't warranty (red flag?). They are asking $27,000 including tax. It's 40% off. Is that good deal? I seem to see similar ones on chrono24 for less, by they are used.

Thanks for the help.

Solid price for the Daytona new.

I'd prefer the wg or plat president next door tho.

They should still offer the warranty if they are a AD and its a new piece.

I thought so too, but they insisted that there was no warranty on any of the Rolexes they had discounted (about 6 different models and 4 cellinis).

The wife is pushing me on the Daytona, in the store she was practically yelling at me to get it. I like them, but isn't in my top list of watches in that price range. But the price is attractive.

Thanks for the input...still undecided.

One of my favorite Grail watches. I'd love to see that dial in person.

Great looking piece and it's fair since its bnib IMO.

Don't quite get the no warranty thing. Never heard of Rolex pulling anything like that. I believe what you are saying just don't quite understand why.

As others have said, it's OK price. But the no warranty thing is not right.

I say look for a pre-owned one or LNIB that is still under warranty. Good Luck

Will you get all the regular paperwork?

If yes then you'll have your warranty.

Yes, warranty comes from Rolex not the AD. If no papers then I would pass.

That's a great point! I didn't ask and just assumed all the paperwork came along with it.

I decided to pass. More research shows that the prices isn't an "OMG can't pass it up" price. And it's not a piece I'm dying to have and can't live without.

Thanks everyone for the awesome and quick feedback!

^Good choice.

I think the price was very fair, but only if it was something you really wanted and would enjoy. 27k is a lot of scratch just for a "deal".

price is fair but if it was a bit more wanted model it would be long gone despite the discount - good decision - wait till you get what you really want

It is ok to pass. If it did not feel good then it probably was not. You have the cash so get what you really really like.

If you are going to spend $27k on yourself, the purchase should get your heart pumping a little! Its fine to pass...
