Icon9 Should I Wear My Deepsea On Holiday To Tenerife - Or Buy Something Cheap?

So im off to the canary island of Tenerife at end of month for a weeks holiday....

im going to be staying at a very nice resort but will deff visit a few local areas aswell.

I wear my watch 24/7 so there is no risk of it getting stolen from the resort but I have read lots of stories of tourists getting mugged for their watches/jewels.

I can look after myself pretty good but I don't fancy getting stabbed in front of my wife and kids lol.

should I just go and buy a g-shock?

or just man-up and wear my rollie

My thoughts exactly. It's a good idea to insure your watches anyway - it just takes stress off wearing them whenever/wherever.

For me, one of the most enjoyable times to wear my treasured timepiece is when I can relax on holiday. I can dive with it, swim with it and just enjoy the watch at my leisure. To leave it behind when on holiday would be sacrilege! Make sure you have home contents away from home insurance and go for it!

Wear it if you go somewhere that you aren't sure of put a sweat band for the wrist over it.

I wear all my watches everywhere and have them insured. I do have to ask why you would go somewhere that alot of tourists are getting mugged?

I'd wear it and just bring a wrist band in case you need to keep it hidden. I don't fancy not having to wear my watches everywhere.

Tenerife? Take it! Wear it, enjoy it, and make sure to visit Restaurant El Mesón in Los Gigantes!

The fact that you're asking the question means you're concerned and know the answer. Get a G-Shock or a Seiko and don't worry about it.

What this guy said, plus even insurance cant stop a nasty scene of a confrontation in front of your family if something goes bad. Gshocks are fun to wear on holiday! Fyi......i also wear the handsome dssd and have a young family and would be horrified if my watch put them in harms way.

Like another poster above, the most enjoyment I get from my watches is while I'm on holiday. You bought it...wear it. What's the point otherwise?

I get it...and I understand...but just wear it and enjoy it. It's just a hunk of replaceable metal.

Hear hear..it is just a watch after all, made to be worn, made to be used.
but if it causing problems then sell it and buy something that will not cause problems if lost. Life is to short to worry about material thingies.

For me, I wear my watches everyday wherever I am.

Itīs not a Rolex, but Itīs Tag Heuer, Longines, Oris, and in December will be Omega 8500 in Las Vegas!!

And what others members said above, Enjoy, Wear it, and The most Important for me, I donīt have any Insurance in my watches, why Am I crazy??

Could be, but here in my country Brazil nall things, foods, watches, etc.... Itīs all expensive compared another countries!!!

No need to worry
I had the same thoughts when I went to Crete last month and it turned out there were more fake Rolex for sell on the Island then originals at the AD.
Nobody will take the risk to stab somebody for a potential fake
Enjoy your watch and holidays. I am pretty sure most of the people won't even notice what you are wearing

If you have to ask, buy something cheaper to wear for your peace of mind.

So what if we all say "wear it" but you can't keep your mind off it and can't enjoy your trip?
