Introducing my First Omega (bought last night)

Hello There... :)
I have just added an Omega in my collection of vintage watches.
It's an 1965 14k DeVille with calibre 620.
All original
Never Used...never restored...

I would have been happier if the dial was a little bigger...but I was happy that it is so slim....this will be my watch of choice with suits...

It was a random find...I had no intention of buying a new watch anytime soon. Especially since I bought a rolex last month.

But I saw a posting on CL that some guy was selling this thing and wanted 2000 for it....something got me interested and we got it authenticated and struk a deal at close to half of what he wanted.

Watch runs a little fast...nothing a good service and tune-up would not fix....
According to the scribe in the case, it was last services in 1993...

It ways a good 41.1 grams (with movement, case and bracelet...)
Case, Chain and Crown are all 14k solid gold.
Since it's an integral bracelet, I am glad it fits me perfectly :)

I have attached some pics... I happy very happy with my purchase....only thing fishy is that the crown does not have an Omega Symbol....Does any one know if that is the way it is supposed to be?

Very nice! The reason why the crown lacks the Omega symbol is simply because it is a replacement crown, that's all. Definatly nothing to worry about. Vintage omegas are great. I own a 1960 tritium dialed steel Omega calibre 600 dress watch myself and I love it to bits.

Exept when that old Omega desperatly needs a service! Winding my 1960 cal 600 Omega feels like winding through mud. Sometimes i cant even tell if ive wound the watch fully its so gritty. So, thats why in a few months she will be off to the watchmaker.

I got it checked....the watch is definitely well kept.
my watchmaker is putting in a new coil and servicing it.
He said it is used a little but preserved very well...cannot wait to get it back in my hands... :)

Ohh btw thanks for the information, that's good to know....i guess i'll ask my watchmaker if he can find me a matching gold omega crown...
