About to get AP Diver

I have gone back and forth a ton with AP never pulling the trigger, for many reasons not worth getting into.

About to get a Diver and a bit concerned about size. I regularly wear a 42mm explorer 2 and that fits just fine. I have a 43.7mm Breitling as well. Fits fine.

I am about 5'10" at 180lbs. Average wrist that I refuse to measure (just because I am odd, and I think it is odd)

Anyway, any average size guys out there wear this watch?

Pics would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

I think that actually looks really good on you. Not too big.

I have a 6.75" wrist. I have both the Exp2 and the Diver. The Diver definitely wears much bigger due to the lug shape and the case.

Seth Im built just like you and have 7ish inch wrists which you probably do as well and I also have 44mm Breitlings and the 42mm Diver wears almost exactly the same and looks just perfect on my wrist. For me its the perfect ss sports watch, even above my subc. Im sure it will be perfect for you too, you need an AP in your life!

Brother, the best thing to do would be to try one on and see by yourself as I'm afraid even pictures will not be able to show you what it will look like on your wrist. Besides, as far as I'm concerned the size of a watch doesn't only make it "look bad" on your wrist, the feeling is also less pleasant and that's something you can only see and feel when you wear it.

As far as I'm concerned, given your tastes for bigger watches I'm sure it will look good on you but I recommend you to try one on. As for the Diver itself, it sure is one heck of a nice watch.

The only way to figure this out is to try it on as much as possible at AD. The wrist size is not your only concern, but also the shape of your wrist - the watch will either be comfortable or not (which was the wase for me so I sold it).

In my view, it wears/looks bigger than 42mm, and it is a hefty amount of metal to have on your wrist, so it has a lot of presence.

Don't focus only on wrist size, but how it wears/looks/feels and how it sings to you.

Do you have a flat wrist or a round wrist?

My wrist is 7.5" and I wear a few watches way bigger than the diver. I just like some large watches (not all). I do not own an AP yet but this is on my short list.

Of course you have to try it yourself but for me the shape of the case helps the AP Diver to feel very natural. Yes its big but it doesn't flop around or feel awkward etc.

The rubber strap actually helps although the watch is at another level if you get the steel bracelet for it.

Pull the trigger and you won't be disappointed. The Diver does not discriminate based on wrist size.

Well, for those that say "try it on".

I agree completely. Typical me, I jumped on the Internet while have a few cocktails and without a whole hell of a lot of thought, I went from looking for a FF to ordering the Diver.

I'll actually have it today.

I tried it on in Vegas once, bit was on a small watch kick and determined it was too big.

I suppose I'll find out today. Ha. I'll be sure to let you guys know.
