Jack, the number one rule here is to buy the seller. Know the person you are dealing with. There are too many bad people out there looking to find a mark with an inferior/counterfeit Rolex. Educate yourself and good luck.

Would you ever buy a used collector car through an ad and not take a closer inspection in person or through more photos? Just be cautious and take your time.
