44mm Offshore - Really Uncomfortable

Guys,

I just bought an offshore and am finding it quite uncomfortable to wear. I hope it is just a matter of getting used to it.

Here is what I am experiencing:
- the pusher buttons are poking my hand when I type or raise my hand above my wrist
- it is my first rubber strap and it seems to be created more friction against my skin.

Has anyone experienced this? Do you get used to it?
This watch looks great but if it remains this uncomfortable I may have to exchange it.

I had the FC 44 and it was the most comfortable watch I have ever had, I do regret selling it... i'm not sure how the steel and gold models wear though....

if yes, then you should stick to bracelet.

rolex sub or gmt is very comfortable to wear.

My only ROO is my Diver. It is not the most comfortable watch ( that will be my daily Rolex beaters ). I just get used to it after a while.

You need to get use to it plus tight fit the strap to your wrist, any loosen fit would not get you comfortable feel, that't my experience with strap watch

I had a PAM and felt the same way, gave it some tome and never got any better, my point is if it's that bad I am not sure you can get used to it, also it depends of what you use to wear, me , coming from 40mm rolex to a 44 PAM didn't do it.

Hope it works out and you get used to it, specially if you love the piece.

Strange, I had the 44SS for a while and it was very comfortable. Have you tried a different strap size?

The rubber was also very comfortable, although you can purchase a Grand Prix strap if you prefer something else...personally, I thought the rubber was more comfortable though as the GP strap can be a bit stiff when brand new.

Once you've worn it a couple of times you will get used to it, i assume you never had rubber-straps before which is why you have the "uncomfortable" feeling. I felt the same way with my first rubber-band. Now i love it, easy to clean and looks stunning.

Kind Regards

Which 44mm?

Not sure of your wrist size, but have you tried the short strap?

On the SS and RG, they can be top heavy if the strap is not secure.

Can you post a pic?

Sorry for not responding sooner, its been a busy day. I have tried wearing the watch for a couple hours with the strap loose and with the strap tight.

I pulled over and here are some pics

Farris -

Yep, no short strap needed. I sold my 44mm RG because the weight was too uncomfortable for me. Seeing your wrist I don't know if that's the case. You may be wearing it too tight? You have a big wrist, which I could see the pushers digging. The flip side, due to weight of RG, you have to wear it tighter than normal.

You certainly need to get the XL strap.

Have you tried the Ti Schumacher or 44 Forged Carbon?

I know what you mean about the pushers digging in. Loosen the strap a knotch, that works for me.

I have the 44FC and it is more comfortable than my Rolex GMT. Sometimes I wear it daily for weeks.

Contrary it may be a bit too tight.

For me with the strap tight and a bigger wrist I get the pushers digging in when I move my hand, flexing the wrist.

A bit of play and the watch will float a bit and cause less discomfort all around.

It's most likely because the watch is too big for your wrist. I know the fad is to wear these monstrous watches nowadays.. but 95% of pics and people I see with these 44-48m pieces are waaaay too big on them. I have a 6.25" wrist and the 44mm looks ridiculous on me.. and anyone who says it doesn't.. isn't seeing clearly.

Well your wrist is certainly big enough! I think it just sits too high because the strap is too tight.. I know exactly what you mean when you say the pushers dig into your wrists. Trying dropping a notch on the strap and see how that feels. The pushers also make the watch wear larger than 44mm as they extend outwards significantly. You won't have this issue with a Royal Oak or a smaller Offshore. The pushers are much bigger in 44mm Offshores.

Looks to me like you need to loosen one notch.

Congrats on an awesome watch and an awesome car too! Are you in Knightsbridge? If so that's spooky as I just saw an awesome Ferrari 458 pass by on Kuwaiti plates on Hans Crescent!

Thanks!

I am just off Knightsbridge, but was there for lunch today. My car plates are UK and my username is spelled differently.

If your local drop me a line and we can grab a coffee.

would it help to wear it on the other side of your wristbone (i.e. away from your hand)? i generally have more space between the back of my hand and where my watch sits to allow for bending my hand back without hitting the watch.

granted, i dont have a ROO but think the principle would work.

nice ride, btw! :)

Farris, that 44mm RG looks great on you, and awesome car!! With big wrists, dropping it a notch might not be possible without ordering the XL rubber strap, I think you said in another post you have 8.25inch wrists, I'm on 8" wrists and my rubber strap is very comfortable( it gets more comfortable the more you wear it), but if my wrists were any bigger then I think I would need to order the XL strap, this might help you.

It's been a hell of a journey for you deciding which piece to go with in your threads, but I think you made a great choice, big congrats!!

I don't wear any of my watches choked up on my hand like that, I wear them on the other side of the wrist bone. That would take care of the issue with the pushers most likely.

Good god man, I'm uncomfortable just looking at those pics. Do you have any blood in your hand after 10 mins of wear?

Seriously though, loosen that watch and enjoy it...why anyone wears watches that tight it beyond me. Next thing you know you'll put on some 'tighty whitey' underwear that is 3 sizes too small and squeeze into some skinny jeans! Yikes...let some air flow my good man! Good luck.
