Legit check : Rolex Submariner 16610 Z series

Apologies if this is the incorrect subforum to post this. Mods feel free to move my post to the appropriate section.

Looking at this one here but hard to tell. Any experienced collectors can give me some input ? Cheers

Nothing jumped out at me as being unusual, but we shall see what the more knowledgeable have to say.

I emailed the seller and he said the following : "It's authentic. if you don't believe me, go on some watch forums and ask them to check it out for you. that's the best advice i can give."

I mean his response is pretty normal and vague, but if there are any specific questions i should ask or confront him, please do let me know

I can't see anything wrong with the seller's advise.

He told you that it's authentic - it's always good to have more and independent opinions - such as from a forum.

As said on WUS, it looks authentic to me. Maybe you can ask for extra pictures just to check that serial on papers match with serial on the watch

Looks good - bids are increasing though. Still a bargain. Try to pay with PayPal for the coverage.

I do! The fact that the seller has made all of the auction links in their feedback private.

I've bought about a half-dozen Rolexes on eBay and I 100% avoid sellers like this. Why doesn't he want you to see what he's been selling? 16610's are just way too easy to find to bother working with people like this IMHO.

Yeah i follow you man, totally agree.

I saw his feedback score just now and had 1 negative and a bunch of private listing

The ebay one is probably gonna end up around $4.8k or so but I think I would rather pay a bit more to reputable sellers on TRF, just for my peace of mind

I don't !! The seller has over 300 feedbacks. In my experience scammers have 0 or a few feedbacks, mostly from making small purchases. Also scammers use a stock description, this description doesn't really raise any red flags. The fact their feedback is private doesn't bother me...

Hey guys, I live in New Zealand. Should any AD in my city be able to verify its authenticity for $100 or so ? You guys recommend me doing so ?

I will be calling them but I've heard mixed stories that some AD will only do valuation but not authenticate, because involves pulling out the case etc.

Below is the AD in my city. Apologies for the multiple newbie questions, as this is my first real watch. Never even had a gshock before

why buy anything on EBAY and lose sleep when you can buy the same watch from a number of trusted and reliable TRF sellers for a few dollars more and sleep like a baby?

The bezel pearl looks off to me. It may be the pics. But I would look elsewhere.

Private feedback = something to hide. Not interested.

He did not show me the serial on the watch. But is it too much trouble to ask the seller to remove the band in order to see the serial ?

Nevertheless, if i do get the watch, i will probably go to a local AD to get it authenticated if they can ?

However, with that being said, I have read mixed reviews from forum posts that some AD can only do valuation and not authenticate 100% ?

He removed an extra link to fit his 7" wrist which is pretty similar to my wrist measurement
