Platinum stole the show

Went to the AD to try on a DD2 YG today. And then saw this beauty.

Couldn't resist, I had to try it on.

I thought my Daytona YG was heavy already. Obviously, I had no idea....

X2. I went by one of local A D's and was dissapointed to see the exact same inventory they had over 7 months ago.

Nothing from Basel etc which was frustrating because I was in the buying mood that day or maybe it was a good thing.

I was also quite impressed by its presence when I got to try this piece recently and thought the blue was absolutely stunning........

Negatives for me were the fact I was not sure about the brown ceramic bezel and sub dials but can see why Rolex went for brown not black as that would have probably over powered the sensational looking blue dial.

The weight was also a bit of a surprise and was noticeably heavier than my WG Sub .........

And ultimately, I think if I was going to unload that sort of wedge it would be on a PN Exotic Dial Daytona 6241 or a more complicated piece such as a PP. Just not sure about spending that much extra cash on the metal itself ....... Even though it was a beauty in the flesh........

I'm normally not into anything brown in my watches. But this one is definitely an exception!

I think the color combination is quite nice and I love the metal, however, at that price point I would be looking at some others instead. Just my 2 cents.

I tried this beauty on at my local AD this weekend....all I can say is WOW...it is quite heavy and it is gorgeous in person. The salesperson was more than gracious enough to have me try it on. It is a stunner!!!

UK retail was £50,100. And needed to be ordered. The one I tried had apparently already been sold.......

The price was 2.4 million thai baht. Which is equivalent to 80,000 USD. Non negotiable.

That's crazy. So the ad would make about 29k on one watch. That should be worth a few bottles of don P. And some seats to the World Series.

It is growing on me. Yet, I would still rather get a PP for that money.

is the blue on this the same as the platinum DD2 blue?

i dont know if i would drop this much on a watch but i could have been tempted, without the brown - just not into brown, at all
