Outgoing!
Spoke with Michael Young a few minutes ago and my grandfather's 1503 bracelet is being shipped to him tomorrow. I can't wait to see the results (hoping for January).
The case left today for Rikki in Florida. I should get that back in a few weeks. I'll post pics when it returns (picked up a Hirsch band to use while Michael fixes bracelet). I'm looking forward to providing y'all incoming pics once it's all back in 1 piece. |

I had a similar experience. My wifes grandfather had a 1500 from a trip he took to switzerland in 1963. Wore it daily until his death in 2012. My wife's father inherited it and basically put it in a drawer. It had never been serviced, wasn't running. As a fathers day gift, I took it to my local AD and essentially had it restored. New crystal, kept the original hands and dial but had it refinished. The bracelet was stretched as much as yours above. I decided it was likely not repairable, and was hesitant about sending it off as it wasn't mine, was a sentimental piece, and I would have hated for it to get lost, etc. So I hedged. Bought the appropriate looking jubilee bracelet, non rolex, for around 250$ and had my jeweler put the original Rolex clasp with crown on it. It looks great. Below are before and after. Now its fully serviced, new bracelet with original rolex clasp, but kept the character and original parts of the watch, as this is what means so much to him. He was very happy with it.
See below: Before--

I sent my President band over 2 months ago, and I am still waiting... I try not to get freaked out about it.. I emailed a couple of times very politely asking for an update. He replies "soon" .... I keep seeing all these great pictures and cannot wait for my own pics to be posted... Sigh.....

One question--for anyone who has shipped to Hong Kong, do you recommend FedEx, USPS (registered), etc?? |

I'd go Fed Ex. It's expensive but I don't trust USPS.
And good luck, I too, am excited to see what Mr Young can do with your bracelet. |
