Don't know what to tell you. Depends on what you mean by "can afford it". To me that doesn't mean you have the cash to cover the purchase, but also the means to not need that cash on hand.

Given this, consider that the watch is not money down the drain. It's simply in your watch rather than the bank. Not saying it's an investment, but the true cost is not the price paid for it, but something substantially less than that. As consumer goods go, well cared for it will always be worth a decent percentage of what you paid for it.

Best of luck. I'd say let us know what you decide, but we already know you're going to buy it.

Well, only you can convince yourself that it is justified.

You've come to the wrong place if you're on the fence, as there are a lot of enablers here.

Bet you can't just have one:)

Don't do it. It's a serious vice impossible to shake once you do it.

When you get it you'll know why.

And it won't be your last.

I certainly understand what people see in the no date Sub c, but I would go w/date. Just that much more helpful as a daily driver... And if you don't dive, i would look at GMT2c. Moreover, if going Sub, I would go vintage Sub date as there are so many fine pieces out there on the market.

I don't dive, but if I did, I wouldn't take my Sub C with me.

Regardless, I can't imagine wearing any other watch. Mine does have the date, though. It's a must.

I have been an absentee for a while....BUT.....as luck would have it I bit thebulet yesterday and got myself a SUB ND. I have an Exp II White....like the GMT and cyclops on this watch....I had a sub date but wasn't as in love with but when I tried on the ND had to have it....like the balance and the lack of cyclops feels very classy....but as many will say you must buy what sings to you and for all of us its great that different tunes appeal to different folk

SubC is a very nice watch and a great into to Rolex if in fact it is your first? It just about covers all the bases without being to flash or over the top. There is a significant amount of them out there now so you could land a fairly nicely pre-owned one at a reduced price, if you are not too concerned about being a first owner. Good luck in any event!

Youre from Hull, a Yorkshireman, right? so I know you will need a good deal, lol, and preowned for around £4K is the way to go. And don't forget if you need to sell it youll get back nearly all your money.

Money in the bank is but digits on paper until you utilize it. People place value in different things, there's no right or wrong.

I, for one, would not spend $80 on a steak but I would happily drop $10,000 on a watch because it is of more value to me.

By the way if you decide you've made the wrong choice a week into your purchase, you can always sell it off - no harm done.

Do it!

Go to Ian Blowers Jewellers in Hull who have a great selection of Rolex and try on the Sub C no date. If you don't feel the magic then hand it back thank them and leave.

I'll bet you won't be able to!

I have the sub c no date and its just perfect. Good luck
