AP price increase 2014

I have heard that AP will increase price by 12%-15% from 1 Jan 2014. Has anyone else heard this? Wonder if any other brands will increase prices from 1/14?

15%? That's an awful lot! I doubt it. Where did you here it from?

More likely is a wholesale increase to reduce discounts by the AD's. But 15% retail increase? Seriously doubt it.

It's not that much. It will be more of a cost increase then a retail.

Will only be 200.00 to 400.00 added to retail, I just spoke to my AD today.

Doesn't a cost increase mean that in turn greys will pay more and the price will go up for us beyond the smaller retail bump, seeing as there is less margin for the AD? (Those of us who buy through grays anway).

Yes, the real increase is in dealer cost. A 10% increase plus a $200-$500 increase on all models and huge increase on limited pieces, with an even bigger dealer cost increase on limited editions.

Unfortunately it means a lot less discounting room.

Will be interesting to see.

I don't mind a price increase, but a bit silly since it's about a year ago that they lowered gold models a lot.

I heard 15% from my ad.

But it doesn't matter I'd imagine to most of us. If I had the money to buy my next watch, I'd have bought it. Right now the watch fund is low so that dominates any price increase!

I don't believe anything an AD says when it comes to price increases, so take this with a grain of salt. Personally I think she was just trying to pad her end of year sales numbers, but the AD I went to about a week ago said I had about two weeks left before a 15% price increase was coming.

But who knows?

I have the new price list. With cost and retail. Retail is up and cost is up significantly. All effective 1-1-14

Could you share it?

I've seen Rolex and Panerai prices lists here.

What's the story? How much are wholesale prices up? And retail?

Our new local AD is selling at 20% over US MSRP. They are listing a SS Diver at over 24K!

Who on earth is in charge of pricing at AP these days? Is it just me or is it a shambles? Reductions this year, increases 11 months later.
