Watch Presentation Ideas

I'm presenting 7 Datejust watches to customers at large event surrounded by their peers. These customers are all male and do not know they will be receiving them.

I'm looking for any ideas that might make the presentation extra special.

My Current Ideas
- Have the watches delivered to the banquet room by security guard
- Present the watches with a jeweler on hand to immediately adjust the band to their wrist
- Film the presentation and send a copy of the video to them

Any other ideas that might make the presentation extra special or exciting?

Clowns & balloons come to mind... Maybe a strip-o-gram?

Seriously, that is an incredible gesture & those are great ideas!

This one hands down... White gloves of course.

- Present the watches with a jeweler on hand to immediately adjust the band to their wrist

Glad you found you're lucky 7.

Only way to improve on that plan would be to give them platinum Daytona's instead of Datejusts.

Sounds like a great plan and a great gesture.

Ps. I like the white glove treatment idea, that would put a little icing on the cake.

I agree with this. Probably the most useful of all the ideas.

Honestly...White Gloves and people not familiar with handling watches...could spell disaster for someone. Those things are slippery.

What a nice gesture. To make it [extra] special I would recommend 1 AND 2.

That should be an event people talk about for some time.

Why not do all three, all great ideas.

If you are going to adjust the bracelets there and then, surely they will want to wear them? What will they do with the watch they're wearing? They could put them in the Rolex box, but that's a bit rubbish, how about also providing them with a small watch case for the watch they are currently wearing?

Great point, I didn't consider this in my planning. Maybe I should bring watch pouches that they could put their existing a watches in, then put them in their pocket so the dont have to juggle a a pair of boxes.

I've got a few other questions.
1. Should we have all recipients hold their open watch box or put the watches on for a group photo?
2. Should the protective film be removed before presenting them?
3. Will I have any problems with airport security carrying these watches in my carry on for a domestic flight?

Keep it simple and classy. The idea of a jeweller there to resize the watches on the spot is a bit tacky to me. And ditch the security guard.

Do all 3 -

1. Grand entrance for the watches - history on Rolex, lighting, presentation by guards
2. They should get sized immediately - also have the jeweler talk about the movement, some commentary
3. Film it

4. Post pics!

Set them each up with a user account and password on here (all have the same name, with numbers 01 to 07 after the name, aligned to the numbers on the watches). Put those details on a nice creditcard style card.

Welcome to Rolex...

What a great thing to do!

With a set of ideas like that I don't think you need to be consulting here on TRF - you've got it spot on by the sound of it.

Do all three.

Well done.

This is a tremendous gift from the prospective of TRF members. Coming from an industry where we cannot even give a customer a 10c pen this is certainly differently. I guess my only questions are:
1) How will they feel receiving this in front of other customers
2) Will they understand the value, some non watch people have no comprehension of the price of a Rolex
3) Would it not be more personal visiting the customers one on one with a watch fitter. Just my 2c, I know different cultures view these sort of activities differently.

No matter what it is certainly an amazingly generous gesture. As the head of compliance for our company I am not able to receive gifts from suppliers, it is also my task to ensure others don't receive gifts either. Oh well each industry is different.

That's going to be 7 happy customers...

While I agree that some have no idea what a Rolex costs, most everyone knows what a Rolex means.

All great ideas. I wish I had thought of them. Oh well, maybe next time. Of your suggestions, I would at least do the security guard and filming. Having the jeweler on hand is icing on the cake and equates to that total pkg. What the hell, go with all three. After all, how often do these things happen in someone's life.

What a beautiful gesture, hope it's appreciated.
If I were a recipient I would surely weep.
________________________________________________

How about 7 fully adorned Bedouin camels, with 7 beautiful, exotically clad damsels riding into the venue, accompanied by a band of equally exotic Moroccan musicians and assistants with large, feathered, multicoloured fans on poles. The girls dismount and present the watches to the lucky, but feintly embarrassed recipients.
Two of the girls, as they present the awards should remove their veils to reveal Bob Hope and Bing Crosby lookalikes, purely for comic effect (of course).
"A bit over the top", you might say,
sounds like a normal Saturday night out for me and the lads.

Definitely a significant gesture, but if it was me, I would meet privately with each person and present them the watch along with a sincere expression of why I would like to gift it to them in recognition. Of course, Without understanding the context of the gift, and reasons for giving it, that may not be appropriate in your situation. It just seems to me that a mass gifting on this scale may be a bit uncomfortable for the recipients, and for their peers who aren't being recognized.

That said, in the industry I work in, something like this would never happen(not that I don't wish it could ), so the whole concept is quite foreign to me. If its customary in your line of work then of course, make it memorable
