Better get Box, Papers, Tags, Brochure and a detailed story of the life of the watch. Like; who wore it, where it has traveled and where it wants to go next.

That's a cool looking 5513. First example I've seen.

Here is a link to the thread where the auction was discussed. Collectors that had an opportunity to view the watch in person were for the most part underwhelmed as the dial had surface wear from the hour hand.

£86,000 for a 5513?! Outrageous! I only paid £2,500 for mine!

well, hopefully the buyer is pleased with the purchase of the rare specimen - the auction house is certainly very happy!

Danny no problem.
I've learned a few things about gilt gloss dials. Pictures taken from certain angles can hide huge imperfections. Many times its only when you tilt the watch slightly away from you and you lose the black glossy surface that surface wear and other imperfections become readily apparent.
When all sales are final, best to see the watch in person...especially at that price.

I have a gilt gloss but the crazing adds to the vintage age . As the photos show you must look carefully at suspect hand scratches .

I have to say, I love that dial configuration. So much that I was briefly tempted to buy one of the Steinhart Ocean One Vintage homage pieces. But knew I'd never wear it...... Anyway, we may see a wave of those dials for sale on fleabay soon.

Myself i am not surprised that dial configuration didnt go over well, just does not look right to me.
However it is neat looking because of its rarity.

Dial indeed looks unusual. Thanks for sharing.
