Forgive me if this topic has already been covered but I'm interested in the feeling about polished center links.

Personally I don't like the polished links on the GMT IIc. I suffer from OCD and any scratches would drive me mad

I much prefer the clean look of all the links being brushed and I hope that Rolex keeps it that way for future models.

I agree with you.

I really don't care much for polished bracelet centre links. And I have TWO Rolex watches, both sporting polished centre links.

So why did I buy them, you may ask??

Good question! I guess I was intrigued by the Maxi Dial and Super Case of the SS GMT IIc (less so by the ceramic bezel and polished links, however). I guess I bought it and would learn to live with those (IMHO) less attractive characteristics of the GMT IIc. I can but state that now that I have them, I am fed up with polished links, at least on an Oyster bracelet.

As for the SS Daytona? Well, I got the chance to get it again, and I simply couldn't say no.

On a DJ it's okay since it's a "dress" watch, but not on a sport's Rolex, IMHO.

I agree, hence why after two months with the IIc I brushed my bracelet.
Now I love love love it, much more than I ever did my black-bezel GMT-II.
The fit and finish is the best of all the Rolex models I have owned over the last 20 years.
I do wish the bezel had 60 graduations for rotation though, but it is not a deal breaker.

And arthur, I am neurotic OCD, so I hear you brother!
My used cars when I trade them are so 'near-new' condition some people think the odometer is wrong.

You can always have the polished links brushed...search around, there are pictures floating around somewhere. Looks great imo.

Honestly, I think it's all personal preference. I'm OK with it on some watches, others (read Submariner, SD) I'd prefer brushed.

I can live with it on these,

Polished links or not...that's a sweet set of watches!

I too prefer the tool watches without polished links. We'll see what Rolex does with the SD.

One of the reasons why I wanted the plat YM was because it had polished center links. It makes the watch look dressier.

I've gotten a few scratches on it, but it hasn't bothered me as I thought it would. Scratches are part of the experience.

I'd say that the polished center links look good on the daytona b/c of the polished bezel - so it sort of balances the watch out. For the rest of the sports watches though, brushed is the only way to go. the GMTIIc is just a weird anomaly in the line (IMO).
