the problem with CSAC (chip scale atomic clocks) for this application is they take about 150mW of power to run...which is going to be problem. Unless I missed it, I didn't read how they planned on powering the unit.

thats what the said about led quartz watches ,,, and look where we are twenty years on ,,
i think this 3d printing thing is the future ,, bit like a replicator on startrek .
car spares ,,, hang on , ill print you a cylinder head , or the likes ,, new hip joint , no problem sir ,,, granted the fitting on those two examples would still be tricky.

Way of the future, yes, I'd agree.Way of horology? Well, maybe, but not very good horology...
I'm sure you can print whatever one wants, an AR reciever, a belt buckle, a back scratcher.....hell.....nerds can start printing girlfriends for themselves.......

Oh, it's definitely coming and will be mainstream. Patents have run out on much of the 3-D printing technology and interest is high in this area.

I don't think it's the future, and one big problem is definitely the battery...

The price is ridiculous.

You really don't need a battery, just a really long extension cord.
