Incoming Mont Blanc LeGrand Ball Point
I'm looking forward to receiving this pen for my birthday in April, any comments or opinions on them as opposed to Rollerball pens?
I am a financial adviser and visit clients in their homes so feel the ease of the twist mechanism might be better suited for this? I got a very good deal, £160 brand new ![]() |

Incoming Mont Blanc LeGrand Ball Point
You did get a good deal! I have owned my Legrand Ballpoint Platinum for 5 yrs now and it looks as good today as it did then. Great choice. Not to hijack your thread but I do like showing my two loves.

I have about two dozen of these beautiful pens and I love each every one of them. The ball pen version writes good but roller ball is a bit better in my view. For daily rough use I think twist ball pen does the job well.

Gary, you will be receiving a very nice pen for your birthday in April(which is not very far off)and remember what they say about those who wait!!!
As for choosing a Ballpoint pen you will find that it writes very smoothly and will completely suit your business needs. I prefer Rollerball pens and they will also work for signing multiple copy forms/documents but the MontBlanc Refills are known for drying up rather quickly. There are other companies whose refills will work in MontBlanc Rollerball pens so this does and will give you other options. Also depending on the brand of Rollerball pen you buy...many are not meant for the cap to be posted..... Just for your information buy yourself a well made Fountain pen for personal use and there are many quality manufacturers to choose from. They will not be a pen you would use in business such as for allowing clients to use when signing documents but they are a dream to write with. The nib allows the ink to flow or glide across the paper as you write and without applying any pressure. But remember with Fountain pens, unlike Ballpoint pens, do not apply pressure to the nib when using(as this can damage the nib).....

RMurphy, I must say you have great taste. I've been waiting to get that platinum pen, I wonder if there's any vendors selling it wholesale here?

Well thanks so much for the compliment. I love my Legrand. I keep reading everything Leo posts with almost rabid attention. Very knowledgeable, that's why I love this forum so much .... And good people like yourself who share similar interests. I am currently looking for a zippered single pen case and my next pen I think will be the Montblanc Carrera. I want one from the 70's era, black and stainless. Another ballpoint. I keep reading Leo's posts about fountain pens and I'd like to try one but I'm afraid I'll screw it up because I have such a heavy hand. Who knows though, that's why I'm here, learning from you fine folks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
