New Cartier Tank MC with in-house movement.

Not a Rolex, but still awesome.

That looks great. What's your wrist size? Can you please post more wrist shots?

Any brand preference? A rugged dress would be the datejust and swap with a leather strap or a reverso or a calatrava

If you'll be wearing a suit, then anything goes, really. I consider my watches as an accessory to my suit, and a statement about my style. So really, there's no wrong answer (unless you're concerned about how your clients or co-workers will react to your watch).

It's different, though, when you're talking formal wear, or formal venue. In that case, you're going to want to skip the watch altogether, or wear something which has no 'sporting' characteristics (like that beautiful Tank in your pics).

I DEFINITELY think you're on the right track with your focus on white dials -- they're the most versatile of the Sporting range of watches you show in your pics.

My favorite white dial dress watch is the Patek 5127J:

In case you're looking for something more affordable, and you're fine with 34mm dress watches, then Patek 3998J:

The Daytona looks great, you can use it as a dress watch without problem. Or you can have a look at the Cellini collection, some good things.

One thing that bugs me a little is that many people indistinctly say that a watch has a white dial when it has, in fact, a silver dial. While still very nice, silver dials usually don't have the same appeal white dials bring, imo. I love white dials as well, but they are much less common than their silver counterparts.

For different options and pricepoints, I would suggest these "true" white dials:

Patek Nautilus:

Rolex DJ II:

Omega De Ville:

Love these - Team; white dials have this crispiness and presence ... (I believe it was the Polar which opened my eyes: readability etc.,).

Gonna say it: should have said my price range - I congratulate some of us on being able to afford these beauties (I mean it)

How about south from $4000 (saw the Omega...)

Thank you all - it is very helpful.

You can probably find a Polar Explorer II with a red hand, older version, for slightly under $4k.

Check out the Zenith Heritage Ultra Thin. In your price range (new), and super classy.
