Great refinish job on the lugs who ever did it.. very nice and crisp chamfers.

Kevin, I see exactly what you're talking about buddy.

At first glance, the crown guards looked off to me as well, pointed almost..

looking at them from the side in the other pictures, they look ok, not amazing, but ok.

I think the shine is causing a little of an optical illusion making the guards look pointed a little.. normally the flat beveled area of the guards is brushed finish and it seems they polished that area too much taking off the bevel. in the end, guards are over polished but I have seen much much worse. Love the watch tho. a bit high for what it is IMO.

You are right the crown guards look just fine in the other pictures. Nice watch but a bit pricey

I bet ABC did the work. They have a relationship with the seller.

ABC are the only ones I know who can refinish their lugs with chamfers like that.. They use a big expensive lapping polish machine that cuts perfect chamfers and makes a perfect starburst brush grain on the lugs. that is the only way someone can do a polish job like that. the watch case is placed is a holder and it is adjusted by a couple knobs, then it slides on a rail to the spinning disk plates for that factory finish. as far as I know, these machines are capable of three finishes, starburst, straight grain and high polish
god I wish I had one... what I could do....

I would love to see this machine in action. Would be cool to watch your own case be refinished

Kevin,
It would either be very cool or very scary

I prefer to watch someone else's go under the knife first

Only scary if it chews the case to pieces

Hands look good to me. Watch is a little pricey but could just be the market these days?

The accepted best offer was actually $9,999, not the 12,995 it listed for. I know a trick to find that out, now that eBay doesn't directly list it. Looks like a very nice example.

To me, appealing dial patination and insert and overall appearance. Having said that, the hour plots at 8, 9 and 10 are a little 'grubby' but not bad. It's been serviced half a dozen or so times, and that accounts for the 'eroded' case/crown-guards, unfortunately. Clean and well refinished though. I think 13 grand is a lot.

Great looking piece. Does not seem pricey to me. That is the market value currently for that RED in that condition IMHO (emphasis on "humble). Good luck on your decision.

Definitely refinished case with those chamfers. As mentioned most likely ABC, I've seen one they did recently and it looks very similar.

Curious, how much does ABC charge for lug refinishing? What is their turnaround like?

What most hacks do to Rolex cases should be illegal.

Yup, it's $9999. But the seller has not responded to me even I'd paid, strange.
