Off to Rikki......
Just sent my 116713 and 16610 to Rikki. I was on vacation and dropped my 116713 on a tile floor and gouged the case. I figured as long as I'm sending the GMT might as well send my Sub. It's been 4 years since a service and I figured it was due for a pressure test. Will post an after pic when I get it back.

Wow, that's a deep gouge....luckily nothing happened to your ceramic bezel....that would have been painful. Looking fwd to your after pics.

Ouch, yep, I'm very interested too. I assume there will be a bit of laser welding done...

It ruined a couple days of my vacation. I only take my watch off over carpet at home. It was still keeping perfect time. I'm hoping Rikki can make it look new.

What makes it worse is that it's only 30 days old!

Yikes!
That's quite the lash! I guess nothing that a little laser-welding can't heal.

Laser welding to the rescue! She should turn out fine as the work is going to be performed by some skilled folks...

From my brief time on TRF, I have learned that tile floors are the biggest enemy to a Rolex.
Post the after shots. I hope you have another watch to keep you company while the two are away! |

Just got this back from him today. Needed quite a bit of parts, an overhaul and this 1966 1603 looks brand new. As soon as I opened the box from him I popped another 1603 from 1968 in and sent that in for service also.
Love his work, and a great guy to boot!!

What does Rikki charge for routine service versus Rolex Service Center? What's the turn around time and whats the warranty like?

Prices are $350 for a sapphire model, $400 for acrylic model, plus any needed parts. One year warranty and turnaround anywhere from a week to a month.

Does Rikki us a lapping machine in addition to the laser welder? I'd like to see some examples of his after service chamfers (obviously doesn't apply to your watch).
