Interesting Gilt Jumbo Tudor 9080/0
I have stumbled upon an very interesting Tudor 9080/0 and hoping that some of the experts on here can share their thoughts. I am by no means an expert, but an avid collector and I have owned several Rolex's and Tudor's in the past and present. I have seen a couple of Tudor Day Dates with similar dials but never and Oysterdate.
http://s1319.photobucket.com/user/sslavik00/library/ This particular watch in a jumbo (38mm) Tudor. It is stamped 9080/0 between the lugs on one side and inside the case back it is marked C.R.S. 7024, serial number 868xxx. What is really interesting is the completely gilt dial with gilt chapter ring. Even the raised markers appear to be gilt. The dial is black but under daylight is a rich faded chocolate brown. I have reason to believe that this dial is completely original to the watch. The movement is marked 25 jewels, model 2752. It is not quickset. It is keeping perfect time and was within 5 sec for a 24hr period she timed against an iPhone. So guys, what do I have here??? Thanks for any input! Shawn |
