Black or White Dial S/S Daytona
I guess that this subject may have been discussed many times, so my apologise, but I haven't seen a poll that refers to it this specific topic. I have recently managed to get on to the waiting list , but I can't decide which coloured dial I like the most. If I am honest with myself I'm edging towards a black dial. I would be most grateful if you would please vote for your favourite and any comments would be greatly received. Cheers

The white is probably a little more preferred than the black, but I wouldn't turn down either one!

As of this minute, I have this wonderful dilemma in real life.....I haven't received a new watch in awhile and have just had the opportunity to have each of these exceptional watches on my wrist for a complete analysis.
My wife, who is the provider, thinks I have too many black dial watches... ExpII Black, New TOG Black, GMTII Coke. I am somewhat partial in the black dial...maybe time for white. |

I think both colors are killer..
Since I have so many other black dial Rolex, I lelan towards the white dial on the Daytona...

I am still biased as to get the white or black Daytona. Cannot decide between the "Zenith" and in-house movement, either.
So I will take this one:

I voted for unsure but........
.....I already have a beautiful white dialled 16520 with the Zenith movement but am also normally a black dial man.
After buying the white dial, I was notified by RUK that I am now on a 3year waiting list for a new one. So in my case, I will probably get a black face and see how I get on. The question for is, can I justify having 2 ???? Cheers - Simon ps - To answer Bo's question, if it's white, it's gotta be Zenith. IMHO the black subdials are much nicer than the silver. |

Wow! I'm so surprised that there is such a gap between the dials.
Is there any particular reason why the white dial is so much more popular, is it the clarity or something else. Thanks to everybody who has ticked a box and made a comment so far.

I think the white dial looks best - goes well with the polished bezel and contrasts with the 3 black dial surrounds within the main face of the watch.
Either way, it's a great looking watch and clearly sought after, with some of you being on a THREE year waiting list - extraordinary. Still, at least you've got plenty of time to save up for one! |

Hell I'd take either one, but I do like the white dial look right now.

Personally i think the stainless steel daytona looks fab in white.
On my own daytona Rolex Uk changed the face for me and replaced it with the red and black face and hands from the WG Daytona. I have got to say it looks the dogs danglies as one would say. The only way you can tell that it is not a WG Daytona is by the tachymeter/bezel. As promised will post some pics of my watch with its brothers and sisters..... rgds mark |

Saw the black dial in the wild last night at a restaurant that a friend of mine owns. The guy is a huge WIS. He has a black and a white one. He had the black one on.
Did not sing to me at all. I no longer want one thankfully. I had my SS GMT II C on and it blew the SS Daytona away in hotness. He agreed and now wants the SS GMT II C. I let him try it on and I worried whether I would ever get it back! In fairness to the Black dial, I think the SS GMT II C is hotter than the White Dial SS Daytona too. |

I went with the black dial since it was my first Rolex. As others have mentioned, Rolex has many nice black dial timepieces; and if you already have, or plan to get a Sub/GMT/Explorer I or II with a black dial it might be a nice change to get a white dial Daytona. Having said that I am seriously looking at getting a white dial Exp II to complement my black Daytona!
