Rolex Oysterquartz President Day Date 19018 Wrist shots
Hi all,
I'm somewhat new to TRF and never have any brilliant insights so I lurk a lot, however in trying to decide to pull the trigger on a 19018 Oysterquartz I wasn't able to find very many actual wrist shots of the piece. I went to the diamond district in NYC today because I knew they had one and I needed to try it on to see if I loved it or hated before I obsessed anymore. They let me take a few photos so I figured id share them with the community. My wrist is right around 6.5" so it had much bigger wrist presence than a standard 18238 automatic, and the bracelet happened to be sized perfectly for me already. Here are the few shots I was able to get of it. Long story short, I HAVE to get one now. The one at the store was maybe a B/B- in terms of overall condition, so keep that in mind when looking. Last Shot is a little blurry, and I also find it so weird that the hidden clap Rolex logo is so rounded and blobby, but they all look like that... |

Hi,
A great choice - I'm sure you'll be very happy when you do get yours. I had a 19018 on my wrist most days for six years, and loved every minute of it. I personally prefer its look and styling to the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date. |

This is a pic from awhile back. Couldn't resist the dial.
I like it very much after I owned it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Does anyone know if RSC will still service and polish the 19018? The wrist shots look really nice . The watch looks like a cross between a royal oak and a day date

I'm pretty sure it would since the Quartz is pretty recent. They were available for sale until early 90's if I'm not mistaken. Personally I'm always weary sending my watch to rsc. Like my watch above, I'm sure they would insist on replacing the dial. U r right about the look. That's why I bought it in the first place. Kinda like poor mans nautilus. Cheers. Yes they will, I had my 1977 OQ serviced recently. Most but not all RSCs will also still change the battery (and do a pressure test) for free when required (as was promised to original owners). As far as looks go, many people suggest that the design was "inspired by" Gerald Genta's AP designs, but the OQ case has its roots in earlier Rolex models such as the Viceroy and Imperial. Pic taken from oysterquartz.net which is well worth a look if you are considering an OQ.
