Hi everyone! I would love your opinion on this matter...
I have an opportunity to buy a Jumbo NIB for a decent price. There are two options Option 1: Trade my BLNR + Cash for the Jumbo and most likely be out of the watch game for a long, long, long time, leaving me with only my 5167 and the Jumbo Option 2: Keep the BLNR and buy two or three watches over the next year. The contenders are an IWC 5001 or Big Pilot, Speedy, a Panerai, Sea Dweller 4K or Daytona. I think the pairing of a 5167 and a Jumbo is killer, but I'm not sure if I'll miss out on having more versatility in my collection. I'd appreciate your guy's thoughts on this and feel free to enable me...wrist shots welcome ![]() |

I'd go for the jumbo+5167 myself. I think there would be the need for a "beater" watch depending on your lifestyle. For that I'd get a expii or no date sub for 4k or under. That's what I would do. Good luck!

Great pic Gus! Definitely some good enabling there. The 5167, Jumbo, and Dunhill(?) lighter are a killer combo. How can I say no to that? ![]() |

![]() coincidently the dunhill has a similar hobnail finish as the AP dial and also began its life in the early 1970's … and of course is swiss made ![]() http://www.gordonbyastdunhills.com/h...-rollagas.html you could always grab a seiko diver as your interim beater? without distraction of Dunhill:)

Great pic Gus, a PP AP combo like that is just devastating.
Chris I would get this pair and save in future and you can buy the Speedy or others fairly quickly and you will have two beauties to keep you company in the mean time. Keep on that HH road! |

As much as I love the Jumbo, in this case, I would prefer the diversity (you mentioned some great alternatives).

Gotta vote the 5167 and Jumbo. I'd lust after more watches, but those 2 would be/are anchors of any stash imo . . . .

I agree 100% Michael. I'm leaning towards doing it...not sure if I'd want to wear much else. I'm going to keep thinking about it and I'm still very interested in everyone's opinions.

Aquanaut + Jumbo should hold you happy for quite a while and you can add another Rolex down the line.

If the price of jumbo is good, go for it as such opportunity seldom come by. As many have suggested, get an interim beater for now and add a GMT or SD4K down the road. This way you would have at least reached a milestone collection and a mental equilibrium for a good while.

I am the minority here but I would rather have more pieces as I get bored very fast, so my answer is keep them and buy more in the near future.

If you go the two watch route, you can always pick up a Seiko Monster for a beater. Great looking watches, smoothest bezel in the market, and now it comes with a hacking movement.

Is the BLNR your only Rolex? If no, I would go for Option (1). Few SS watches can compare to the Jumbo in sheer beauty and class.

![]() It currently is my only Rolex Ben, but probably not my last. It's not currently getting much wrist time though. I figure the Jumbo would have enough impact on me to get the 5167 off my wrist half the time. |

Option 2: Keep the BLNR and buy two or three watches over the next year. The contenders are an IWC 5001 or Big Pilot, Speedy, a Panerai, Sea Dweller 4K or Daytona.

Is there a none of the above I can pick?
![]() I think you need the GMT for a daily, so think you should keep it, and still find a way to add the Jumbo. If not, then I'd say get the Jumbo now if you think the deal is great...the GMT prices will go down a bit when market cools, so you can get one later if you want. |
