Day Date II Platinum owners

Guys I am purchasing one of these and just can't decide on the dial. I am considering the Ice Blue Roman and the Ice Blue gem set Roman.

In the real world are the diamonds just too much bling for this piece. I like the Platinum because only those who know these watches have any idea of what it truly is. The Platinum being understated and yet the top of the heap appeals to me.

The diamond face is great, but does it take away from the subtly of the watch?
Has anyone with one of these changed out the dial either way?

Opinions are much appreciated, especially from those who own one.

Thanks

With the Platinum DD II I think the only way to go is the Blue Concentric Dial.

I would pick the one without gem set.

Another vote for the ice blue concentric roman dial. It is my favorite Rolex as well.

i think any of these three would rock (though the diamonds might be a bit more discrete on the DD Pt):

If you like the Platinum because it is discrete and only WIS will know what it is then having diamonds on it rather defeats that purpose.

If you are a gangsta rapper or a female, go with the bling. Otherwise, go without diamonds. Just one man's opinion.

Hard to argue with the ice blue with concentric circles. Ken, that just absolutely rocks.

For top of the heap price wise the diamond set Romans ticks the box, that said it looks a bit rap star bling IMO. Not being a fan of Romans in the Rolex line I went diamond solitaires on a ice blue face, it's my ultimate Rolex watch and one to hand down to my son. Try them all on and make a judgement call. Good luck with your choice - great watch!

Ken is spot on. This is my favorite Rolex. I love how discreet the roman dial is (no lume).

The blue is hard to pass up - but the silvery one flies under radar in a business setting.

My photography skills are far inferior to my fellow owners, however I concur with it being my favorite Rolex.

It's never wowed me...especially the hands...for a price point like this I'd like more decorative hands...but still a nice piece.

I love the hands--they pop with the RN's....Love the look of that shade of blue. They just go so perfectly with watch and dial! Of course not every watch will be for all so to each his own. What one man dislikes another one loves!
