The black dial seems to be less common than the white dial. Just from browsing the sales forums plenty of white dials by less blacks on sale

Maybe the black dials are not being sold on as much. Generally I prefer black dials on SS watches and white on RG.

the black ROC is more sought after which is why its usually sold and the ones you find more are the white.. the white ones look awesome too but i prefer black on ss..

yup i totally wished for that too.. giving the ROC 26320 a open case back (something like the 15400)… i wonder why didn't they do that since both models were launched during the same year..

any ideas?

I think (and this is pure speculation based on looking at them- feel free to correct any misinformation) that AP only gives open case backs to in house calibers.

The ROC uses the excellent F. Piguet Chronograph movement (now owned by Blancpain I believe) where the RO uses an in house AP caliber and the ROO uses that same in house caliber with a Dubois Depraz chronograph module, like the Tudor Heritage chronograph, except that one places the module on the caseback side and AP places it on the dial side (as evidenced by the sunken date on the ROO).

I own an older (F- serial) ROC and can confidently say that the Blancpain movement is an excellent one, whether you can see it or not.

15202 not in house and has exhibition back and could be the most beautiful movement in the line up. I think the issue is that the chrono module just isn't that attractive when viewed from the back. In part, this is why I opted for the 15300... The movement and gold rotor are just beautiful.

It was originally made by Jaeger Lecoultre in the 70s, but is now used exclusively by AP. In house or not, the calibre 2121 is legendary.
