Good for you!

Well done Sean on getting your name on the list. So now we know it is £4750. I'm glad you wrote that in big numbers as it is a BIG number.

I'm afraid it's too rich for me but I hope you get one soon and it lives up to the hype.

Cheers - Simon

It converts to ~$9500US, but the US MSRP will likely be less. The US prices are generally at least 20% less than the direct conversion from pounds sterling.

Really? It was 5500 Euro when I was recently in Ireland...approximately $8600US vs. the $7000US that 3500 sterling would be.

Thanks!

Hi. Yes the list price in Ireland is 5500. I got mine here for 5100 in July. Prices in Ireland are a complete joke. Watches are bad. Cars and houses are even worse :)
Euro is strong against the Pound and the Dollar at the moment making it an even more expensive option.

WOW!! That's pretty close to NZ$12,000 and no possible discount from the AD as it's a new model.

No way....thank you very much!!

Even at $7500, I dont know.... Lets just say this will really be good for the hardcore divers that need to dive to 12,000ft. I would rather have a GMT IIC or Sub date.

Not to offend, but holy S***! That's a tad rich for me for a SS watch. At that price, I'd want an original Bluesy TT, and maybe even a SS Daytona.

Add your taxes and no discount and expect to pay about 10K for a SS diving watch....I dunno.

I'm no 1 and No5 on separate lists.

I'm hoping that the market version doesn't have the extra engraved wording.

Oh well if I don't like it, I can offer my chance to anybody here who wants one.

I can also confirm...£4750 (minimum)

$9,500 is all good considering the research and technical work that had to go into something with that kind of depth rating...I was expecting $10K+ when I read the specs.

I'll buy one.

I was on the fence about the DS but that price may just tip me over to the I'll stick with my current SD side.

Yeah, it's expensive. So is Glashutte, Blancpain, Panerai, and several others.

There's been a lot of back and forth on the new Rolex diver. Are there short comings? Sure. In my view they could have left Sea-Dweller off the dial and just put Deep-Sea.
For this reference they could have given a rubber strap option. They could have done a lot of things, but what they did do was give the option of a larger watch with a lot of advances.
After all the rocks are thrown (like they were last year) people are going to buy this watch.

Yeah, I called my AD today---I'm first out.

Guys, I think that price in British Pounds has the 17% GST factored in. So should be less for us here in the States.

I have to say, I really like this thing.

I'm not planning to buy a second Rolex, but I would have preferred a Sub to the existing SD, and I prefer this thing to a ceramic Sub.

The current SD does not sufficiently distinguish itself from the Sub. The idea that Comex wanted something more durable and Rolex worked with them to build it sort of makes sense, but as a separate production line, it is too similar to the other watch.

The DS is, in my opinion, what the SD should always have been; the biggest, toughest, most durable diver's watch on the market. This is the Humvee of watches. If you don't like it, you can wear a Submariner, which is now a distinct line.

The main objection people seem to have is that the text on the stepped rehaut is unattractive. I'm not a devout minimalist, and I don't find it personally objectionable. A blank chrome ring there would look kind of dull.

I called Rolex New York today and asked the price and the guy almost laughed at me and said it had only been out a day and they had no other info from Geneva yet about prices or availability.
