Rolex Elevator Pitch..

So I am curious as to what some of you might come up with. What is your best 30 second "Elevator Pitch" for why you wear, bought or collect Rolex watch(es)? It has to be a 30 second short synopsis, but not one or two sentences, no "one liners" please. Anyone game?

I think I would know what to say, or what I would want to say, but I couldn't condense and concentrate it as well as some of you experts might be able to.

What would be your positive response to a friendly, non-threatning inquiry if someone you knew came up and honestly asked you, "hey, why a rolex watch, I'm just curious?"

It's a blitzkrieg. They've got that pitch on their home page too.

"I am fascinated by a device that uses gears and springs to measure out over half a million "ticks" a day to tell the time. No electronics, no batteries. I appreciate what Rolex is in the world of watches. A manufacturer of a precision instrument, in a style that has not strayed far from its original look created some 60 years ago. Rolex is a durable, reliable and accurate watch, with a simple construction that a watch repair person can appreciate. With care it will last several lifetimes, and remind its wearer of many stories through the years."
30 seconds according to my Daytona.

It's all about wearing something that symbolizes life. The heart of the watch is called the movement...that means it requires motion/physical effort to keep the watch functioning....much like your heart. When I stop ticking, the movement follows suit. So don't stop moving! (then give him the thumbs up when exiting the elevator and yell out before the elev doors close "I'm taking the stairs!")

I think it was OldExpat who had a good comeback to those who brag about their G-Shocks keeping better time than a Rolex. Wish I could remember what it was.

Been there a bunch of times. Mine goes like this:

Timeless design that doesn't go out of style (EG omega and tag from the 90's that LOOK like they were from the 90's)
Holds value
Perfect size in 40 or 42mm
Works for all occasions rather than JUST being a dress watch OR JUST being a sports watch.

X2 mine would be a similar response.

I might add that I have worn Rolex watches for over 20 years. They are rock solid. Over the years I have "spent more and gotten less" on many other material items. I have never felt that way about my Rolexes.

Rolex developed the first water proof wrist watch as well as a watch with a changing date wheel. I wear Rolex for its history, innovations in the art of watch making, their craftsmanship and unwavering dedication and single minded focus from beginning to end.
Rolex controls the manufacturing process from forging the raw metals to the hand assembly of the watch, it's a true engineering marvel when you think about the fact that there are more moving parts in a Rolex watch than in the engine of a Rolls Royce. I wear Rolex because it's a true heirloom timepiece that will continue to tick long after I've stopped.

This sounds good!

To others that posted...FYI an "elevator pitch" does not happen on an elevator, it's just a short synopsis that you would give someone that condenses what you sell, what you do really well, what your passion is etc.. Could be anything in life you want to express to someone so they know more about you. This is supposed to not be defensive or for strangers. Sorry for any confusion.

Thank you very much
I've been in luxury sales and worked as a product knowledge trainer for a major Austrian crystal company and a Denmark based jewellery company specializing in charms.
I enjoy learning as much as I can about a product and then traing others on how to sell and build relationships with their clients.

I love Rolex for the one feature that was not designed into the watch...

Planned obsolescence!

Iconic design, durable, accurate, liquid is why I buy Rolex. Why I buy watches isn't going to be explained in 30 seconds.
