My dad just gave me a Rolex, is it real?

My dad bought this rolex about five years ago ish. He bought it from a watch shop in Portland for just under $2k I think.

He recently gave it to me for graduation. I was stoked. I don't particularly like this style, but I appreciate it because my dad gave it to me.

I just don't have a good feeling about it being real. It wasn't as heavy as I thought a Rolex should be and the magnification doesn't seem like it's 2.5x. Also, there are some weird seal lines on the watch.

Sorry, I can't take the watch apart to see the serial because I don't know how to take the strap off, nor do I have the tools to even try.

Can you guys help me out.

I weighed it and it weighs approx 90grams (3.16oz). If you know the model, that would be helpful too.

Whoops, pictures would help obviously...

Can you post a clear picture of it? Two would be twice as helpful.

It was hard for me to get good pictures with my phone...

If another angle would be better, let me know and I'll try to capture it.

Edit: I think he paid about $3500-4000 Canadian. He doesn't really remember.

well it looks like the case is real imho, you have an aftermarket sapphire crystal conversion hence the low mag, a non authentic after market diamond bezel and dial. show us the inside clasp markings as the band needs checking also regards

I'm sorry but it doesn't look legit to me. The date mag is off, crown position looks low and the end link fitment on the underside looks funky. You just need a tooth pick or paper clip to remove the bracelet, it's not difficult and you can't mess anything up really.

It appears you may have an early 90s Men's Datejust model 16234 or 16220 or 16200 (3135 movement). I am basing this on the holes in the case, your 555 inscription on the end links, your calendar disk font, and the thickness of the case lugs.

The following items are aftermarket for sure: Dial, bezel, and crystal.

The following items may be aftermarket: Band

Just based on these photos the band looks like it may be original, but on customized Rolexes you have to be careful because they switch the band out more often than not.

Without looking at the movement, serial/model inscription, or clasp it is hard to tell anymore than what I have mentioned.
