Quality of the movement in Tudor Heritage Chronographs??????

Does the movement in the Tudor Heritage Chronograph have any known issues? I understand it's a piggy back chrono movement but does that in itself make it inferior in any way?

I would be very interested in the opinions of the informed forum members of the quality of the movement found in this watch. Thanks in advance for any replies.

They use top grade eta ebauches so the quality is fine. Watches aren't cars, so there aren't systemic issues.

A Tudor is made by Rolex, that's your assurance

I've had mine since day 1 of the US re-release. I wear it more than any watch I own. Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.

It's an exceptional movement.

Just because it's not made in house, does not mean it's inferior.

The idea of an in house movement being a better is a big misconception.

More automatic watches have an ETA movement, than in house (I can't prove that, but it seems likely to me).

No problem with mine, it's as accurate or more accurate than any of my Rolex watches. Some people say the modular setup makes the movement hard to service, but I'm not servicing it myself so that's not an issue. I keep the chrono seconds hand running 24/7 too, and it runs in perfct synch with the small seconds hand. The AP ROO has the same setup.

How is the accuracy with the chrono running constantly? I've heard the parasitic module affects the amplitude.
And I ask with the understanding you may not obsess over accuracy...

I do obsess by most people's standards, in that I check accuracy according to time.is twice a day. With appropriate overnight positioning, I can keep the THC's time exact, or to within one or two seconds. I don't have a timegrapher so i don't know about amplitude.

My watch has had no Issues, have had it for a long time, never been serviced and average is 3-6 seconds fast per day.

The modular design does take special tools to service and the base movements on the early 1990 versions used by other brands were not properly engineered to handle the added workload. However, Tudor uses 55 jewels and starts with a well engineered base.
I've had mine for 3 years, it's run a very constant +4sec per day, and hasn't missed a beat.
