What makes you look at your Rolex
ok, a kind of strange question.
I recently bought a new Explorer ii and I love it. Been wearing it every minute i can. I often look at it as I am at my desk or in the workshop, but what i really love (and this might sound a bit weird) but I sit next to the window in my office and the lume gets fully charged. When i get up to leave the office, in the darker corridor I love to look down at my wrist to see the hands and dots glowing brightly. It's like I am hypnotized by it. What is your watch's best feature that fills you with the feeling of 'yeah, Rolex on my wrist' ? |

For me it is the GMT hand. I love the fact that there is some utility to this watch compared to some of my others.

I love to "lume" mine up , too! Then go in the dark and check it out for a while. My family thinks I'm nuts and they're probably right!

Great picture. I always enjoy lume shots. The only thing missing from my DDII but I don't know where they could applied it. There is nothing like Sub lume!

Its incredible good looks and flawless manufacture.
OK, I'll put this out there-I am guilty of looking at it and still not knowing the time. There, I said it. |

This happens to me too, i wonder what the time is, look at my watch and stare a while then continue what I was doing only to realise I forgot to read the time and go for a second look. |

That's a tough one .... The ever changing dial, the perfectly polished case, the fit and finish of the bracket and clasp, the gold rimming around the dial markers .... There's more but that's a good start

Time and/or date. In particular, for time when I need to get to a meeting and need to know how much slack if any I have, and date to sign off on some papers. The Rolexi are tools - very good tools, mind you.

When the sun is just starting to go down and there's an orangish glare coming from the sky I'm always mesmerized by the way the suns glare makes my dial look through the vintage acrylic. also watching my sweeping center seconds hand sweep around my dial repeatedly during class. And of course, the time. I love the beauty of my vintage black dial w/gold text, and gold indices with white stripes looks. I've worn it daily for almost 2 years and it still makes me smile every time I look at my wrist

The lume is always nice but I love to look at the glossy dial on my Sub, in the right light it looks like it's actually wet...

To see if it is still there after going outside. All this crime some Rolex owners are afraid of makes me ensure it is still on my wrist. So far, it is safe to wear.

I like the way the text looks on the dial and that makes me look real hard at the dial to enjoy that look.
The BLNR bezel is also a source of limitless fascination, because the colors are so changeable in different light or at different angles. I also look at my watches when I want to know the time.

When I need to know the time and/or date.
...then sometimes I linger admiring the watch. |
