I need help!

I need help.

I want a new Sub ND. I also really want the one without the COSC or chapter ring writing. I have phoned around to a few ADs and they seem to be disapearing pretty fast.

The problem is I just can't quite afford it yet however I don't want to miss out and I certainly don't want to get one secondhand.

Can I please have some persuading arguments to take the plunge and just get it.

This damn watch has a curse on me and I can't stop thinking about it.

If you have some money saved, and need to put the rest on a CC go for it.

Make sure you have set yourself a reasonable repayment schedule and stick to it, you'll feel fine and have exactly the watch YOU want, not one you can get.

After you have paid off your CC, you'll still have the watch of your dreams which will last a lifetime.

If it were me, I'd go for a new M Sub ND COSC but without the RBR if that's possible - but I'm fussy.

Good luck.

X2! good plan...gets the Sub ND on your wrist ASAP. Just don't put too much on the CC.

For what it's worth, I bought a Sub ND non Cosc on Monday. It is second hand, but only by definition. It's a Sept 07 "Z" series in absolute as new condition, in fact non run in yet.
I like it's uncluttered, understated dial without the " Officially Certified " etc label that the other models have, including the 114270 I bought recently.
It really is a lovely looking watch.
Hope you enjoy yours.
John.

you know, these watches will run forever. an old vintage sub, in decent shape you might find on the grey market from a reputable(can't emphasize 'reputable' enough)dealer, would be cheaper, and in the long run, maybe make you happier, since they're out of production and climbing in value. If, on the other hand, your heart's desire is set on a new Sub ND, well then, buy it, but don't complain about the payments(i don't believe in financing watches, but each to his own).
best, dan

Thanks for the advice eveyone.

I actually found a non COSC yesterday (thanks for the offer though watchboy) but unaware to me I see that the font used on the dial had changed. See pic below -

I also took a second look at the COSC and it really smiled back at me so after all that I will be going with the COSC after all. With regard to my need for a 'pure' sub I may then save up for a great condition vintage 5513 to satisfy that need as well.

Thanks again and I will be sure to put up some pics after I make my purchase :-)

Here is the pic of the non COSC with the different writing. Very dissapointing!

and here is the previous 'traditional' font used.

if i were buying a sub nd, i would buy a used one. If it has been recently serviced, it likely looks just like new. With the price raises I dont think i will ever buy i new one. i suggest you look into a pre loved rolex

An AD has offered me a new COSC ND for $4500 US and i can also claim back 7% of that in sales tax. Considering the relatively high resale value of a second hand model it makes sense (well to me anyway) to spend a bit extra and have a brand new watch, as well as begin a long and loving relationship with my local AD.

If I pay on Amex at this particular AD I also get enough points for a return flight to Tokyo.

I saw it too, and it had the new prices in place as well. Go figure, a discontinued MST master for 5700+
I passed on their watches.

Here's my reasoning:
1-They aren't making anymore
2-They are just going to get harder to get
3-They could be tomorrows rare find

Here's Mine:
