Blancpain vs Omega
Hi all. I'm stuck in a tough decision between Omega DSOM vs Blancpain L evolution R. I love to own both watches but only one will be a winner.
Only cons: Omega WR 50m and Blancpain no running second hand. Pros: love everything. Which one is the winner? Thinking about long term relationship. Thanks (Patient) |

Aesthetically speaking.. I find the BP more attractive. Just my humble 2 cents.

DSOM for me!
Considering the 3570.50 is also 50WR it should be a non issue over time for daily wear -- some swim with their classic speedys even. Although the Blancpain is nice, I think it'll be a forgotten reference in time. Speedmasters of all walks seem to instantly etch their place into the watch community. As a side note the 9300 can be used as a second time zone if you start the chrono at 1200 or 2400 hrs because of its two-hand register. The only big PRO I see for the BP is that the steel may act as a dampener for the ceramic whereas the DSOM is all ceramic and inherently more fragile. |

BP is Haute Horologie. One of the finest watch brands in the world. Omega is mid-tier, IMO. But you should buy what speaks to you.

Blancpain without a doubt. I feel the DSOM is overpriced.

Being completely honest, BP does nothing for me. Omega may be a "lesser" brand, but I would gladly choose the DSOM. |

I somehow think that one, at least I, would get tired of either choice. I'd look at some nice JLC chronos as well.

I'm a fan of the dark side, but that Blancpain is simply a better looking watch.

I can't say about the Blancpain because I haven't seen it but I own the DSOTM and I can say it's an awesome watch, even in the context of my collection. The all Ceramic case is very well finished and the watch wears comfortable despite it's size. I love that it's all black, my favorite color and ceramic is resistant to scratches, which means the watch looks exactly the same as when I bought in 3 months ago. 50m water resistance is fine unless you plan to go diving.

I love JLC brand and rich history but I really want to own one but nothing really really interesting me. I feel like all of their master compressor and master control watches are missing something. The only watch I like in JLC is Amvox 5 & 7.

I love the BP but would buy the DSOTM. Better perceived value to me.

Both beautiful watches and would love to own both. But if only one and its for the long haul...I'd pick the Omega. The classic looks will help with longevity.

if BP, it would have to be a fifty fathom/bathyscape. between the two above, DSOTM easily.

I am huge lover of BP but this models does not say too much to me as for example Bathyscape so in this case I would take 100% Dark Side

Isn't this piece twice as much money? I tried it on recently but see no value in the complication.
