Patina Spots

Sometimes I see hour markers with patina that has slightly brown spots.

Is the normal for tritium? Does it occur normally or is it a sign of a bad service or moisture?

Does its presence affect the desirability or minty-ness of a dial?

Thanks in advance.

From what I can tell you it is just aging. However I will let the experts chime in on this one. Welcome to the site.
Aloha from Kauai,
