1803 White Stella dial or not ?
Hello,
I would be grateful for any information regarding the dial type of my 1803 from 1971 or 1972. Though Stella dials in vivid colors are easy to recognise, white ones are probably more difficult to spot. What do you think about this one, in real it looks more white and more like porcelain or enamel : |

1803 White Stella dial or not ?
It's not stella. I've never seen stella with steps on the windows. Stella's are lacquer applied over n over again, so the paint is thick. Yours looks much thinner. I think your dial has been refinished. The font doesn't look right IMO. Compare the D & A in day date, they r not of the same size and thickness. Also the word swiss seems to not have serifs in ur pic. Lastly the lume looks too new for sigma dial. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your opinion. By the way, this is not as sigma dial. There are serifs in the letters of T SWISS T (too small to see on the picture I posted). The dial is original with original lettering but the watch was serviced by Rolex two years ago and it was relumed with luminova dots.

Yeah my bad. I know sigma dial is the Q T swiss T Q, but tend to call the slope rim dial sigma. Here is mine stella sigma for reference. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
