It is worth playing around on an inflation calculator to see what some of these older prices are in today's dollars. Some of the watches were much "cheaper" then... and some adjust about to about the same as they sell for today. Depends on the model and year, of course.

good link , be interesting to show rolex prices compared to say , a pint of beer , average weekly wage , or house prices , or an average family car .... just for a giggle.
