Well, it's sold now.
That seems like a mighty low price.

Let us know what you find out. When it is on such a large site and one "falls thru the cracks" of the expert lurkers, I get worried.
I hope it works out and you got the deal you appear to have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well you got it for about half its current value. Hope it works out. Watch looks good, but seller seems not to have sold any watches before, and doesn't seem to do much business. Fingers crossed and hope it doesn't get confiscated at customs, as it's illegal to import a Rolex into the USA by mail.

Something smells fishy IMHO.
If the receipt is dated 30/9/10 then why does the warranty card bottom line state the date of purchase 22 N.........???? AD address on paper receipt does not match address on warranty card? I'd walk , no run, away as fast as I could TBH!!! Nobody would put a Rolex on EBay without a realistic reserve, at least in my book. Edit, looking further at EBay pics, watch was originally sold in Lleida, Spain going by warranty card. Paper receipt shows as a known Rolex dealer in Italy ( note Italian Grazie etc at bottom of receipt). Pics too blurry IMHO. As per EBay blurb, why would an almost unworn 2010 watch need any 'servicing in time'??? Could be the bargain of the century......but if its too good to be true as they say........

What is fishy is that the receipt is from Italy and the guarantee card from Spain. But in the end, it could have been bought in Spain and taken to Italy to be sold.

Could well have been sold by an Italian grey seller who sourced it in Spain. Since paypal/credit card payment is possible and the price is a real bargain, why not take the risk?

quick update for you guys- i sent 3 ebay messages since I purchased the item yesterday, and one email asking for the sale to be cancelled and to be refunded due to the high possibility of it being confiscated at customs. No answer from him, but I just opened a PayPal dispute and already had them resolve it as a reversal. So looks like no harm done. Thanks again for all of your help and especially the heads up, Old Expat Beast!

Glad to see that it worked out - at least, monetarily.
eBay is a great marketplace, but you've got to be soooooooooo careful. Surely you can find a nice sub here on TRF. (Actually, I know you can because mine is up for sale in the classifieds here). I'd rather deal with TRF buyers and sellers than eBay, given the choice. My question is for Adam (Old Expat Beast). Why is it illegal to import them? It's just an item, not unlike anything else. As long as you paid duties on it, why would Customs care if you brought it in the states?
