AD says "NO BOX"
Hi,
I called an AD today that told me he had the watch I was looking for but it was the only one and it was a (NEW) display model and it wouldn't come with the box they normally are sold with. I asked if I could order one as I would expect all proper packaging for a $12K watch, he said no, i don't know when another will come in. Have you heard of this from an AD on a NEW watch? Thanks. |

That's bizarre. They should have a pile of boxes in the back - they're not matched to specific watches. Can't see why they won't give you one.
Edit: and I don't understand being just a display model. Most of the watches sold by AD's are out on display, I believe. |

Actually every Rolex I buy I order and don't take the one on display. Any AD can order a watch for you also so not sure what this guys is talking about. Lastly, they have boxes that are matched up with different watches per Rolex instructions.

He’s an idiot for not wanting to take the extra mile to get you a box and make a 12K sale... some people just fascinate me, really... HIS LOSS!

That makes no sense. I bought a GMT ceramic display back in 2009 . The outer box had a slight bang on it but the AD gave me a 1000 off so I didn't mind too much. They always have a box for it or extra hanging around. Something is bit off with this AD . IMHO

Watches are not shipped in there green boxes, but in coffin shaped plastic clear protective boxes all other bits are added at the various ADs.

Super shady
You should out this character. Very unorthodox and rolex certainly wouldn't approve. |

I have to agree with Tom on this one...thats just not right...actually quite odd. Boxes (both) and papers are givens from ADs. I'd have to pass. That's one of the reasons you BUY from an AD to have the full set!!!

No reputable AD would sell new Rolex merchandise without all the accoutrements accompanying the sale of a new watch. I would walk without both hangtags, box(es), warranty card in your name, manual, warranty booklet, etc.
I wonder….are they about to lose their AD status and are therefore unable to order from Rolex? It IS a new watch, correct? Not traded in? |

For the correct percent off I could easily overlook the lack of box.

Yes, but the OP didn't mention any deep discount to offset the lack of the usual kit when getting a new watch from an AD.
