Help identify this DJ.
This had been my dads daily wearer for probably the last 30 years. He bought it used as best he can remember.
I know very little about DJs and was trying to ID it without taking the bracelet off. The pins are smaller than the tools I have for other watch bands. Did some searching and what I read confused me as to which reference this is. Is it a 1601, 16013 or 16030? Other? This is the information he gave me (which I believe was written down some years ago by local watchmaker who serviced it). However, from what I read online trying to match the reference, I got a little confused as to whats what. According to my dads note (all or some of which could be wrong): Maufactured 82' or 83' Movement 3035 Serial 747XXXX 14K It has a plexi crystal but does not seem to not have the quick set date. No quick-set and it being 14k doesnt seem to align with it having a 3035 movement from what I read... But again, my knowledge is fleeting on DJs. Taking off the bracelet will answer my question...but thought I would ask to save myself a trip to the watchmaker. Once I figure out what it is, I will probably send it out to ABC and have them do a service and maybe send the band out to the guy in Hong Kong (name?) to repair the stretch. The watch has seen some miles but I think can be made to look fresh again. Thanks in advance for many insight or help identifying. |

The flat dial is consistent with the 3035 movement. An earlier 1570 movement would require the pie-pan dial. The quick-set function may be disabled, it should be quick-set with that movement.

I asked him if was always rough when winding...and his comment was 'I never wound it with the stem'. Always wound automatically through wearing or on a winder at night. I said, you mean you haven't actually hand wound it in 30 years?! Nope! So, as I said, pulling and pushing on the stem isn't something I plan on doing much before sending to service! |

It will clean up like new again. The gentleman in HK for the bracelet is Michael Young.
