Incoming. Well... Arrived.

Not a watch, but I got a new toy today.

After 15 years of faithful service, I am retiring the Hayabusa. Not selling it, but retiring it.

Picked up a new bike today and couldn't be happier.

I have no idea what that is, The Hayabusa is an epic machine and will take some replacing.

Thanks guys!

It's a BMW K1600 GT Sport, inline 6, 1650cc engine.

Here are a couple of stock photos. I was too busy riding to take any good photos of mine.

The one I got also has the optional fog lights on the side of the bike and dealer installed Remus Hexacone carbon fibre exhaust.

Here are two crappy pics of the actual bike, taken just before I left the dealer

Wow it's stunning, I'm sure it set you back a fair penny, it list for more than my used Merc. It has a big engine but it can't be quite the beast the Suzuki was, right?

It's five months old, 6k miles.
The original buyer paid 29k including the Remus exhaust, but I was able to score a good price on it by letting somebody else take the initial hit and by buying at the end of the month.

While I still paid a fair penny for it, I feel satisfied with the price I was able to negotiate.

It's not the beast that the busa is but it has quite a bit more torque just about anywhere below 7000 rpm. Once that 7 mark passes, the busa just blows it out of the water.

The BMW is smooth as heck and a lot quieter, so it's deceptively quick. I found myself accelerating to pass a car that was doing 40 , and I reached 75mph by mistake. More than once. The busa is more vocal and while it's even easier to go fast, the sound keeps you aware.

Which is precisely why I have open pipes on my Blackbird and Speed Triple.

Thanks guys!

My wife forgot her lunch today and it was nice to ride to her school with some food, instead of taking the car.
Couldn't do that with the Busa since it had no bags.
