Icon10 So a guy walks into an AD and says, "if you have one I will buy it"....who knew????

Ok doing my normal walk by at my AD. Had the SS Daytona on my mind since our recent win there.

So I say to myself....man if they pull the, "we have one in the back," and it's a white face untouched in the plastic coffin I'm buying it on the spot!!

Sooooo, anywho.....I say Hi to my normal guy, he says hi. I say any chance you have an untouched white face SS Daytona in the safe???? The look on his face was priceless and he turned and just walked away

Few minutes go by and out he comes holding something, I just figure he is punking me!!!

But nope!!!!!!!!

Low and behold he says this came in 6 hours ago!!!!! And whips out a coffin sealed with........

You guessed it !!! An untouched, white dial, SS Daytona!!!!!!!

So I say..........

Awesome I will take it!!!!!

Behold my latest addition......

Sweet! Great pick up. I trust your Platona is secure enough in its awesomeness to not be jealous of a new Daytona competing for your affections!

Nice but I'm afraid it'd get no wrist time with me in favor of the 116506.

Thanks everyone, this forum makes a new purchase even more special as so many people who love watches to share with!!

Thanks for the nice comments!

The Daytona IS my favorite watch, this is my eleventh!!

I forgot how stunning this white dial SS Daytona is, it really rivals my Platona!

I must admit I have or had lost my desire for SS! But the karma with this one was overwhelming!!

Now some may say, hummmm you have a Platona why or when would you wear the SS Daytona?? As my loving wife so kindly pointed out!!

Well that's why they call it a "rotation"!!

And as some of you do know me and know the usual direction of my SS watches (ask my sons), full disclosure, I bought this with the thought of after our next Daytona race, win or loose, I surprise my son at the end of the day, thank him for being my crew chief and presenting the watch to him in the pits at Daytona!!

Well that is my thought, and the Daytona race isn't until October, so I will lightly wear it, make a few memories then off it will go to my son, so we can have even more great father son times!! (Yeah, he is a great kid and my best friend!) corny but true!!

But for now......

Hey Tom,

Huge congratulations on your latest purchase

I must admit when I first saw your thread I kind of agreed with your wife, that is until I got to this post then I got it!!

It's a lovely gesture and you're very lucky to have such a wonderful relationship with your son.

My wife is due to give birth to our first child next week so this post has made me very happy. I look forward to meeting my new best buddy

I look forward to your next Daytona thread lots and lots of pics please !

Once again, huge congrats on your latest acquisition. It's a stunner for sure!

Have a great day.
