Air King Acrylic Crystal Crack/Lume Question
Hello,
I have a vintage Air King that unfortunately was dropped the other day and developed a stress crack at the 37 minute mark in the crystal. Question 1: How easily will it be to replace the crystal and what is an amount I should expect to pay. Question 2: Check out the indicies, more specifically the lume dots and the discoloration on the dial behind them...is this normal of a vintage Rolex and should I be concerned? Thanks for any feedback! |

1. Crystals are easy to replace for a competent watchmaker.. The crystal may run about a hundred bucks plus labor. A good watchmaker may want to service the movement to ensure no crystal pieces are inside the movement.
(It is not a stress crack if you dropped it, it's impact damage) 2. It is not uncommon for the paint to be discolored behind the tritium dots

That is my favorite Air King color combination. Try to be more careful with it, ok?
All kidding aside. Beautiful timepiece! Mgc57 |

Tools is right. $150, but make sure they're using a Rolex service acrylic.
