My White Gold Daytona PCL v BCL
I have gone half way .... I've simply applied very fine wire wool lightly to my bracelet to slightly 'Tone Down' the shine. They're still officially PCL but not as blingy:

Can understand it reasoning but that look doesn't sit well with me sorry!
Also have you damaged the bezel tachy 120-130 looks like some of the markings have been removed? But what matters is if you like the look |

I don't like pcl's and think the toned down bracelet is an improvement..

I like the brushed look too but I think you would have been better off letting a watchmaker handle the process for a better result.

I prefer brushed myself but would let my watchmaker handle the job for me.....looks better than with PCL IMHO!

So long as you like it!
It does look like you may have rubbed some of your tach tho. Hopefully you can enamel the numbers black again. Good luck! |

Maybe using scotchbrite and not wire wool would be gentler?

Be careful! I prefer Rolex the way they come from the factory, but as long as you like it that's all that matters. Another important thing to remember is, as reversible as this process is, you are removing a small layer of metal when polishing or brushing the surface. 18ct is particularly soft so be careful not to use to much pressure or you will loose the shape and crisp lines.

It is only toned down a little bit, they aren't brushed centre links now just not quite as shiny as full on PCL

I like the PCLs. If wanting to change it up, I'd have a trusted watchmaker handle it. Either way, you can always have it reversed.

I brushed (not just toned down) the PCLs on my SS GMTII-C because:
1. My watch 2. My money 3. My preference You should do the same but will get differing opinions from the good folks on TRF so it's 100% your choice in the end.

Good idea but I would have a watchmaker do it. Won't cost much and the result is likely to be better if they have experience. Maybe abc watchwerks or the like.
I too dislike pcl so I like what you're doing, just would handle it differently.

Looks like I'm in the majority here. I think BCLs look much better, but I would've let a pro do it for me.

Brushing a SS maybe but on a PM not for me, don't want to think of any gold dissolving away...
