Comfort Daytona vs BLNR GMTII on small wrists
I have a lot of nice pieces-- Pateks, AP, FPJ, ALS etc. but have not really been that interested in Rolex. I am warming to the idea and was at one point considering a BLNR GMTII vs Daytona. I am very much into chronographs but i do travel a fair bit and also like the GMT complication. I have a small wrist just under 6.5 inches and I had though based on my reading -- various threads on this website that there was generally a view that the Daytona is more comfortable especially on smaller wrists. On another site I saw someone making the opposite comment. I have become more sensitive to watch comfort and if i do decide to go Rolex--- my choice will come down to comfort.
So I want to know for those with small wrists 6.5 or below-- which is more comfortable --- the Daytona or BLNR GMT II. |

I have a sub c and a Daytona and 6.5 wrists. I find the Daytona much more comfortable when worn over long periods.
Sometimes I need to quickly glance at my wrist when wearing the Daytona as it feels like there is nothing there. Or that could be an excuse to look at the panda dial. Not sure :) |

I have a 7 inch wrist and have owned a Daytona and own a BLNR. The comfort level for both are about the same, but if I had to choose, I would say the Daytona is slightly more comfortable.

I don't have a GMT but the Daytona is probably the most comfortable watch I've worn.

My wrist is 6.5" and I enjoy wearing both my Daytona and my BLNR equally.
Both are very comfortable on my wrist.

Owned both (now flipped!) and have exactly the same size wrist as you... Daytona is supremely comfortable. BLNR also totally good, but Daytona has a clear edge in my mind.

I have similar wrist size as you.
I never owned nor do I want to own the Daytona, however the BLNR is very comfortable I can tell you that. Go for it! You'll never get bored I assure you |

The Daytona is my most comfortable watch. I forget it's on the wrist, especially when wearing dress shirts

Wow a large number of votes in a short time period. Sounds like most go with Daytona. John--- your piece is gorgeous. My mother lives in LaJolla. I am in the bay area. Is that a special edition model ?

Big wrist or small wrist, hard to beat the comfort of a Daytona.

I think the Daytona but only slightly. Might not even be measurable to be honest. For me it's always just a matter of getting the band dialed in which generally takes a bit of time. 2-3 weeks before I locktite the screws back in. They're both very comfortable.

I have a 6" wrist. I moved my BLNR and got the Daytona. For me, Daytona is definitely more comfortable than the BLNR.

I have both and both fit and feel great. But the Daytona, to me, just hugs your wrist better, if that makes sense? I too have a 6.5 inch wrist and the GMT and sub are a little "flatter" little more "space" between watch and skin, so Daytona to me fits and feels that it wears the best out of all my watches

6.75" wrist here. I have found the size and shape of the Daytona is the best for my wrist.
I did try on a BLNR, and it's a better fit than the Sub was on my wrist. |

Tough call as both are comfy but I think the Daytona takes the top.
By the way, that was me that voted "Neither are comfy" by mistake as my finger touched box below intended. ...Darn iPads. |

Daytona wears much nicer. Case/bracelet and height more balanced!

Comfort , then the down turned lugs of the Daytona are best for a small wrist.

Those with both Daytona's and GMT's can offer a better perspective on relative comfort since I only have a GMT, though I've not had any issues with how that watch wears on my wrist of similar size.
My guess is that you'll find the GMT sufficiently comfortable. Besides comfort, there may be a few other things to consider: - Obviously, chronograph vs GMT with a date - Screw down push buttons on the Daytona: some like these, others don't - Bezel: the GMT is less likely to show wear marks than the Daytona, which has the same issue as other watches with smooth, polished bezels - Legibility: friends with white and black Daytona's have mentioned their other Rolexes (Subs, GMTs, Sea-Dwellers) are more legible, particularly vs the black Daytona - Lume: GMT would be better Either way, a great choice for a first Rolex. And perhaps you'll end up with both! |

I think you raise a few good points. I have been a bit worried about the legibility. I have middle aged eyes and wear glasses -- well not all the time as my prescription is weak and my major problem is with small writing close up--- so particularly affects my ability to read some of the sub dials. I have another watch with screw down pushers so that does not bother me too much.
