I found my grail on a Korean website, ugh...

I know I'm in trouble again - but it's perfect...and the price is amazing.

But google translate has not been much help - I can't even figure out how to ask them a question.

I probably should add that my last grail (looking for over a year) arrived on Tuesday...

If it's a real passion, hire a middle man you can trust. There may be trusted sellers that do business in the region that can steer you in the right direction.

Who ever I'd hire would likely buy the watch out from under me!!! Sounds like a good reason to get some 12 step religion...and maybe some kimchi as well.

Thank you!

I'm glad I got a little credit for someone - if I'm willing to even think about flying to the other side of the world, there's got to be a good reason. And if there was the same watch for sale locally or even in shipping range, I'd be all over it.

And yes - on multiple times when I've listed links or noted ebay auctions on rare items, the watches somehow disappear (and on occasion re-appear on the websites or listing of trusted sellers).

2 weeks ago I asked a question about an older dial - and within 3 days, someone scoured the internet until they found the watch and posted the link.

I mostly just thought it was funny that I'd actually consider this kind of trip - and figured I'm not the only one...and that perhaps i might someone else feel a little less crazy (or in good company)>

If it is your grail... and exactly what you wanted... sounds like a great watch story is in the making. Find a Korean friend (or any Asian friend, and offend them massively by suggesting to take a trip with you to Korea because they obviously will understand Korean, up to you) and go there. If all works out well, get the watch.

Or do the boring route, find a trusted seller on forum who is local to the watch and will help negotiated. Either way, if it is perfect, always go for it.

I think it really depends on the "grail". Is it something fairly ordinary that is being offered at a good price? Or is it a difficult to find vintage watch that only surfaces every once in a while? For the latter, there are watch dealers that scour the internet and act as a "middleman" for a reasonable commission. I am sure they have language translators (electronic or live person) that is more sophisticated as well.

i know the definition of grail has been debated here before, but surely it hasn't come to mean the watch you really want this month.

Go to Korea. It's a beautiful country, great people and the best food in the world.

Oh, and you'll get a watch.
